    Some changes I would like to see

    -An application of a stacking debuff from pld while in shield oath increase physical damage taken by an enemy by 1.5%, stacks 3 times last 10 seconds and is applied on auto attacks. Can be named Censure or something so it doesn't upset the lore. (Dark Knight could have something equal but on the magic side.)

    -Utlimately all tanks should have access to the -10% damage taken debuff from warrior. I believe this was a giant oversight to give this to just one job. Replace the debuff from rage of halone with the debuff and pass the str debuff to Royal authority.(This is a war/drk buff in a sense, because they wouldn't have to be responsible for it.)

    -Replace Clemency with Inspirit(already in game) - Instant - Self Haste lasts 20 seconds

    -Increase the support of Divine Veil by letting it spread your current buffs and remaining time to your team members at half potency. Works for Fight or Flight, Rampart, Inspirit, and Tempered Will. (A party side Bane), Increase CD to 4 Minutes. (2-3 times per most endgame encounters.)

    - As someone said above increase the power of Shelltron a bit by letting it block both magical and physical attacks. I would let it last 3 seconds and still maintain 30second cd however since the uses I want it for are to block the NEXT attack. 3 seconds is usually enough to prevent a waste on an auto-attack

    Is it too much? Maybe, but I truly think this would bring a different style of tanking compared to the others. I would like to solidify our roll as the party support tank instead of just a physical damage reduction tank.

    Main Requests/Things PLD needs to have its 'Defence specialised/Party Defence tank' title which is currently owned by other tanks due to utility and shorter defensive cooldowns:

    Shields can block magic. Shelltron is changed to next ability rather than next attack, reduce duration to 6s.

    Swap the debuffs on Halone and Storm's path.

    All hate mods are being increased, make it so that potency*mod on Halone is equal to Power Slash either through mod increasing or WS potency increasing, don't care.

    Urgent skills such as Clemency and Shield bash no longer interrupt, still on GCD. Clemency is now 0.5s cast (fast but not castable while moving).

    Divine veil recast reduced to between 1 min and 90s.

    Clemency and Veil based on weapon damage alone, not STR and VIT Make clemency what it would be in a full str build and veil what it would be in a full vit build.


    Because DPS is so important, with the current DPS gap shown on community databases, even defensive/utility boosts would see PLD in no use as long as other tanks can deal with the encounter, which they can comfortably:

    Swipe up to average potency per GCD across all 3 combos, reduce tp usage to 20, increase hate gen to be appx 50% of new Halone.

    1.5 to Double the pot of either SW OR CoS

    Reduce WS potency reduction on shield oath to 15%.

    This would still likely require further tweaking in the future.


    Unrelated notes:
    Swap recasts and effects on Dark Dance and Raw intuition, Warrior did not need another garunteed CD.

    Make the guaranteed crit debuff immune to awareness if it stays on WAR, same but DA removable if on DRK.

    Add nominal TP (50-100) cost to warriors stance swap because 2GCD and over 1/3 of your mp pool is far more of a cost to pay to stance swap than 20% of your HP needing curing once every two swaps (especially with regen and overcuring everywhere) and WAR TP management isnt a thing, it is the only class in the game which has an infinite supply in single target situations.



    PS: Isn't live letter tomorrow, if anything is being changed it is probably too late.

    PPS: Mods, if we start a petition, don't just lock it without a single comment as to whether you are or are not looking into it, the reason there are so many threads and petitions are because you have stopped engaging with your player base in this area, I don't care if it is going to be announced in the live letter or if it is because it is a work in progress, SAY THAT. As a 1.0 player I am disappointed this still happens.

    Like I said in the other threat...
    - Make paladin not be utterly boring and simple
    - Fix the oath stance dance (take it out of GCD there's no reason for it be there on top of that it cost MP and it cancels the combos This needs fix)
    -Give PLD some mechanics paladin is currently is the least plan out job of all the job in this game, only having 3 simple combos that every tank has and the rest is just press CD, give them some stackable mechanic or something that makes me use my skills and not be bore to death getting hit by the boss for 10 min.
    -Dead weight FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE TAKE OUT PLD REDUNDANT SITUATIONAL ABILITIES. On top of being boring and simple, it has the biggest amount of "almost" useless abilities that get absolutely no use at end raid content. fix those abilities or perhaps rework them.
    -glow? other tanks has special effects, why pld doesn't? perhaps add some visual indicators for the OATH that will help healers identify between SHIELD OATH to SWORD OATH.
    -DEFENCE currently the reason why PLD doesn't do as much dmg as DRK or WAR is because "it's the ultimate defense tank".....it's not.... War and DRK survive just as well as PLD and on top of that offer more raid utility and more DPS which SE made the core difficulty for this game meta, so we end up with 3 tanks, 2 work with the meta 1 doesn't (fix it) either increase the DMG or increase the DEFENSE to be a true DEFENSE tank.

    Give me a reason to get back to my shield and sword please.

    ...all I want to say is I'm heavily disappointed with the PLD petition thread being locked. I don't really like tanking anymore with the way endgame content is currently designed, I just can't find any enjoyment in it anymore. I hate feeling I needed to play WAR over my PLD in Alexander Savage. I can care less about doing 6-7k Fell Cleaves or doing more dmg in general. I personally get more excitement reducing huge numbers that bosses dish out to me as small as possible, and being a wall. Why I liked playing as a tank. I feel tanking lost it's roots in this expansion where tanks are just seen as nothing more then a harder to kill dps class. So yes a qoute in qoute DEF TANK in FFXIV HW aka PLD does need to be adjusted to compete with the other tanks doing more dps among other things. But this really is more of a tank design issue in general for the game.

    Buffs/Changes people want for PLD have already been discussed since ALexander Savage came out. So most requested buffs/changes are just echoes now from past threads, dps increase, oaths, shield swipe, tp issues, clemacy, divine veil, PLD's low emnity generation, PLD's general simplistic design, while I just sit here waiting...hoping.

    It got locked because threads like this are ultimately worthless. There have been, and are, a million threads talking about how they feel PLD is weaker than the other two tanks along with whatever changes they feel PLD needs.
    There's no need for a thread where everyone comes in and says, "Yep. I don't like PLD right now." It doesn't produce discussion that isn't happening else, if it does at all, and clutters the board.

    The number would hopefully drop dramatically if there was something like a pinned announcement saying changes were planned, from a large number requesting changes to a small number discussing what people think/hope they will be.

    Something like this recently got out of hand on <another big MMO I am not sure I can mention by name> forums where the devs got quiet and there was massive forum backlash over the lack of communication to the point where any dev that did try to start talking again got flamed to oblivion. It only takes one dev or community mod post in two months (however long 3.05 has been out now) on the most discussed topics to keep things in check.

    TL;DR: Yes, but it isn't hard to stop. Mod/Dev discussion and pinned official threads solve most of it.

    There's already a billion PLD feedback threads, is my point. I don't agree with the other thread being closed, however, so I guess it's not really the OP's fault.

    Flash should be low potency AoE damage, (if it's based on INT/Attack magic, then 150-200 potency is appropriate, if it's based on STR/Attack Power like Clemency, then potency of 25-40)
