    Continuation of a petition to get PLD upgrades

    The other thread got locked due to having a strict purpose of getting pure confirmation with no arguments(thus my original reasoning to no discussion, as it normally causes friction and the sight is lost) between players to get PLD upgrades. So I ask that anyone that wishes to see changes to PLD and wishes it to be known, please do so here.

    PLD TP management and AOE damage need to be reconsidered. Also the utility of Clemency, Divine Veil, and ability enmity modifiers to be in line with that of DRK/WAR.

    They can cheap things out and add a 20% TP reduction to weaponskills when in Sword Oath, just like what they did with Darkside.

    PLD spell speed, in general needs to be addressed as we are the only tank in the game that is actually casting spells. Clemency cast time needs to be brought down to match GCD.

    Enmity modifiers need to be increased or add an AoE ability that is only usable after casting Flash where it does 80 pot damage... or add a 15% chance to proc on Flash called Greater Flash that instead of applying blind, it does 80 pot damage.

    We just need a some kind of damage boost and aggro boost if we are gonna be mainly a physical defense tank then at least even out the rest of the problems. Glory slash could be added as a PvE aggro move 200 potency 10 second cooldown maybe leave in the removes a beneficial stat buff or something else. Give circle of scorn more damage per tick 50 instead of 30 that kind of thing.

    I see a few options for helping paladins with the current meta. I'm basing this only up to Ravana EX and normal Alex, but the issues are there, just less damaging.

    Option 1:

    Paladin deals more damage, homogenised with the other tanks and loses some uniqueness. A few potency increases, coupled with some enmity changes and this should hopefully bring the dps in line with others.

    Option 2 (my preference):

    Keep the paladin as a support/defensive tank and only change enmity to bring in line with other tanks. The way I see this would be to make divine veil into an offensive buff, similar to litany (something like a 10% damage buff for 20s, 2 min recast) . This would work out at about a 2% raid wide damage boost if used on CD. Your tank will do less damage, but allow the party to do significantly more. Clemency could be changed to be the equivalent of stoneskin, giving two possible Shields (Shields for 10% PLD health, 5% shield on PLD if cast on another party member) . Surecast should be added to PLD in shield oath to prevent interruptions. This would make a PLD able to stoneskin and clemency a tank buster as well as mitigate, making them a full turtle tank.

    General changes whatever happens:

    Allow Shelltron to block magic damage. Increase CD (45s) and just make it a guaranteed block for the next 6s, so a semi inner beast. Give paladins a tp management ability, for instance remove the tp cost of shield swipe and add a 15s CD and a little potency so it isn't a huge dps loss.

    Pipe dream:

    I'd really like to see tanks facing real danger outside of tank busters. The current meta means that tanks are only really threatened by predictable attacks. A bit of a meta rework to make parry a useful stat, vitality desirable (personally I would like tank abilities to small off of this) and for bosses to deal sustained high damage, rather than very high spike damage would be welcome imo.

    Paladin is my first tank job and I wish SE will make Paladin a bit stronger and funny to play .I really need a mechanic/ minor buff to sword oath/ shield oath to some certain abilities like warriors have on Equilibrium (Restores own HP when used with Defiance. & Restores 200 TP when used with Deliverance)

    Sword Oath: more 10% weapon skill damage with 20 % more TP consumption
    additional effect: some minor effect to all 'sword' abilities including Spirit within and circle of scorn

    Shield Oath: adding some TP regeneration and all 'shield' abilities

    Just to make this class more fun and dynamic while keeping it to 'simplicity' concepts and on par with other 2 tanks

    atm last patch or one before that suddenly even dark who is comparable to pld now has better tp management let alone dps and almost same physical defense and higher magical defense what's going on With the tank balance?

    2 tank slots end game forget pld cause you don't need any other tanks than drk or war.

    pld means nothing end game heck its not even a viable tank in any tanking dps or healing role atm its nothing would prefer to take a doh/dol class to a raid atm.

    You missed the part about increasing the cooldown. It works out at around a 4% damage reduction overall if used on cooldown (assuming we get a 30% reduction block), which it wouldn't be since the meta doesn't a) need it to be; nor b) give a substantial tangible benefit to reducing damage outside of tank busters. I'll admit, it would probably need some tweaking to stop it being op, but throwing some ideas out there. Both warrior and dark knight have a short CD, substantial mitigation ability available for the current meta, but strangely the "defensive" tank does not. Simple tweak though, only available in shield oath.

    Given that both warrior and dark can apply a 10% reduced damage debuff to the boss (well, not DRK in A4 with ease), it doesn't seem unreasonable that if paladin does less damage and can't give that sort of party wide benefit that they be able to mitigate more individually.
