Why is glam quest level 50 and not like 15?

I dunno why this is being argued since glamouring in this game the best looking gear is at 50, unless you wanna wear a swimsuit and run around but even then a new player isn't going to care about that.

*sigh* That is your opinion. I happen to enjoy having full control over what my character looks like from the moment I start playing. Also, there are a great many very nice looking outfits sub-50, and a great many horrible ones. I would gladly spend gil to not be stuck in a potato sack or a tin can, or mismatched armor in general. In Rift, one of the first things I do with a new character is build up a bunch of outfits - even more doable now that all gear looks are unlocked account-wide (which is AWESOME).

Basically, I value highly being able to look how I want!

For the most part people who just started playing the game aren't gonna have 20k lying around you'll have like maybe 10-30k if you're lucky by lvl 20.

My husband and I rerolled on Mateus. Between the two of us we have over 2 million gil, and we're only level 35.

My point for myself in my own experience with MMOs is just lvl, enjoy the story, the zones, and quests. I don't play a game purely for aesthetics but looking badass and cool I can see how this would make someone go I wish I looked like that! which I can totally relate to however most of the gear that you get at 50 (crafted n what not) are just reskins that you can dye that so in the end it doesn't really matter. Lvling DOH as well first I know a ton of people who do that and again, I can understand as if crafting is your joy in this game i'd say do it up, but for me it's combat classes. Glamour didn't make me stop playing this game or make me feel alone I knew I was getting it just when I had gear Worth glamouring.

You're being silly. Mount is msq, glam is just a quality of life side quest.

Technically, so is your company chocobo. Mounts aren't required to get around and are totally optional.

I'm sure they'll change it in the future I don't see why this is a heated topic, as for coddling it really isn't, do your MSQ, get to 50, "omg I can look pretty now" should feel more of an accomplishment really. As for Naunet people who are new aren't going to make 2 million gil by 35 unless they have prior knowledge of how crafting works/lucky drops. It would be a good QoL change i'm not disagreeing here at all with you guys just it's something that isn't on priorities. I'd rather them do other things like more PvP maps, more content etc glamour is just an optional thing and that's how I feel.

Neither of us craft. The 2+ million has been earned entirely through just converting gear into materia as we level, and selling occasional materials like skins and meat that drop from the animals that we kill while questing.

As to your accomplishment comment - no, it really didn't feel like an accomplishment at all. It is far more of an annoyance that such a basic customization tool is locked behind 50 levels.

Glamour isn't something the game has to offer? I'm pretty sure a glamour system and glamour items exist in the game, and are there for people's enjoyment.

I never understood why this is such a hit button issue. I'm just glad I can customize my looks.

Nothing sub 50 is worth the gil to glamour, except if you have certain seasonal items.

In your opinion. Considering how popular wardrobe systems are in other games, it astounded me that SE decided to limit it like they did.

It's not like letting people glamour below 50 would suddenly force you to do so.

Because God forbid you might want to enjoy the game the way you want to, right? Not everyone plays MMOs to reach the top.

Letting new accounts glamour stuff like the thav bustier or spring dress is only going to promote RMT in a major way, due to the gil prices involved. Path of least resistance.
