We get a quest to learn how to dye stuff at level 15.
They gave us a quest to unlock the Aesthetician at level 15.. after the first freebie session it costs 2000g a pop.
Then we're taught how to make materia at level 19-20 - but look we can sell those once we get our retainers and make money!
It is too bad they did not put the Aesthetician at level 30 instead of 15, and then Glamour quest at around 45 [since we go to Mordhona for level 45 leves]. This would space the perks out more evenly.
Level 50 gets the magitek mount and the deluge on free blue items for msq.
I do agree they should offer it up if the player is able to afford it, I know personally I am not a fan of the tin can tanks get at various levels that cover head/body legs/feet. Soon as I was able to I glamoured the top off at least.
People don't want players to do fates and rush to 50. Says they don't learn they're class when they get higher level.
Same people tell new players to rush to 50 because otherwise they do not deserve glamour and perks.
Logic.
You can't glamour until 50. So that makes sense.

Tbh I never used glamour until the ilvl 110 stuff came out for glamour I just used the ilvl90 valor gear when the 110 gear was available. I never used it till I unlocked it at lvl 50 and actually cared about doing the quest.
Edit: Fixed

Don't you need cleared Ultima anyway to unlock all the quests in Revenant's Toll?

Yes, I know you need 50 what i'm saying is that I never saw a point to use it because the gear to me didn't intrigue me like some RPers like you. I just enjoyed the game for what it was, got my af gear, liked it, even when I got the darklight gear I still ran around like a tin can. Glamour isn't a big thing for me (until now since there's not much going on in the game). I dunno why this is being argued since glamouring in this game the best looking gear is at 50, unless you wanna wear a swimsuit and run around but even then a new player isn't going to care about that. It isn't game breaking, crippling, or inhibiting your play as a person paying for this game.
So... um.... why would that be a reason to keep the glamour quest at level 50? If you don't care for it, and don't even do the quest the moment it appears, why would it matter to you (and those like you) if someone else runs around spending their hard-earned gil to buy prisms off the MB (or getting them from their level 50+ friends/alts) just to look pretty while they level? Would you prefer that those people instead run through Haukke Manor wearing that low-level gear they like (like swimsuits, yukata, racial gear, hempen set....) over them being able to wear level-appropriate gear glamoured to look like said low-level gear? I'm not saying that scenario happens a lot, but while I levelled I often completely skipped tiers of gear because I didn't like them. I wore the level 23 tank gear until I could switch to the level 30 or 32. Ignored the stormtrooper armour from Brayflox entirely. And so on. I never heard any complaints, probably because those I ran with assumed I'd just been unlucky with drops, but I think everyone can agree that wearing lower level gear than you have to is a lot more detrimental to combat performance than being able to glamour earlier than level 50.
On this character (the above was an alt who levelled up before they implemented glamours at all), I just ignored my combat class entirely, opting to level up my fisher to 50 just to be able to get them glamours earlier without leaving my MSQ in the dust. Did it mean I stopped levelling after getting those glamours and am still puttering around at level 20-ish, focusing on just playing with low-level glamours?
No, being forced to reach level 50 with any class (not necessarily a combat class) to unlock glamour isn't game-breaking, though I'd like to argue that it is somewhat crippling/inhibiting. But being able to glamour from an earlier level (say 20, same as unlocking chocobo) wouldn't break the game either. Like you said, you do get a lot more glamouring options at level 50+, so even if your primary focus with the game was glamour/fashion, you'd want to level up your classes/jobs to higher levels to unlock more glamour options.
Noxifer already made my same point, but given that glamouring is already limited to what's at or below your current experience level, there's little reason to further gate it behind hitting what used to be the level cap. My theory is that when they implemented glamouring, they just simply tacked it on at 50 and set it in Mor Dhona, where most players frequented anyways. But whether you were new then or new now, it is an odd choice when you consider plenty of other MMOs don't place such high restrictions on vanity systems, and some even allow it from the jump.
Given that the game is only going to keep growing, SE may want to reconsider the lv.50 requirement for glamour, especially if vanity is such an attractive feature (and let's not kid ourselves, it IS). Not doing so only makes the competition look more inviting
For the most part people who just started playing the game aren't gonna have 20k lying around you'll have like maybe 10-30k if you're lucky by lvl 20.Skipping tiers of gear is fine you can use the lvl 32 brayflox gear till 50 if you wanted it's just for lvling. My point for myself in my own experience with MMOs is just lvl, enjoy the story, the zones, and quests. I don't play a game purely for aesthetics but looking badass and cool I can see how this would make someone go I wish I looked like that! which I can totally relate to however most of the gear that you get at 50 (crafted n what not) are just reskins that you can dye that so in the end it doesn't really matter. Lvling DOH as well first I know a ton of people who do that and again, I can understand as if crafting is your joy in this game i'd say do it up, but for me it's combat classes. Glamour didn't make me stop playing this game or make me feel alone I knew I was getting it just when I had gear Worth glamouring.
