My thought of 'prestige' and your thought of 'prestige' are different.

Not to be mean, but you are one of those high end players who looks down your nose at people and complains about everything all the time. Prestige to you is something you and only you and your friends get to have.

There's a lot of people who just have fun and enjoy the game. To them, having the weapon and showing it to friends (who may have seen it a million times, but still are happy to see you have it) is fun.

This is not FFXI or World of Warcraft. The day of the hardcore no life gamer is kinda over. At least in this game. I think some people in this thread should probably accept that.
