Does instant transportation effect game immersion?

It would be another case if boatride we have now is fun and has something on it.

I think the main point is that I would rather them focus on making the boatride fun and have something on it, before adding the option to skip it.

I'd rather they add airships when there is actually content to do on them, instead of adding them now for no good reason and then plopping the content in afterwards. I want a world where skipping the ride is something you might want to reconsider.
