It's not contradictory. If you want a VERY specific piece of content, you pay. If you don't want to pay, you use the free stuff (which is in the VAST majority).

There is no quantifiable evidence to show where SE actually sends the profits for the cash shop, for all you know execs are buyin new yatchs with the proceeds. giving SE more money for the game has no consumer centric reason to do so.

You clearly don't understand what people are saying to you: It's not "Good" to pay above your subscription with microtransactions, there is zero consumer friendly reason they exist.

Look, I was there to see this whole thing play out with WoW's cash shop.

First it was one mount. Then a couple of companions (minion equivalents for us). And people kept using these exact same reasons I'm seeing in this thread.

At the end of the last expansion there was an option to pay to instantly hit max level on a character, and it was okay because "it's the end of the expansion, everyone is max level anyway!" That went on for a year.

In the current expansion, all unique mount models are bought in the cash shop, all models available in the game itself are reskins of existing mounts or enemies.

This IS the path you are allowing THIS game to take by not standing up early and saying that either you pay a subscription OR micro-transactions, NEVER both.

It is not good for us when SE removes content from the game that had previously come with our $15/month and then charges extra for it. That is the opposite of good for us.

Most games that feature online modes, Diablo, Dragon Age. ect have free seasonal exclusive content these days, it encourages the player base to stick around.
I don't see why this is such a hard concept to grasp. If you miss out you miss out.

Players like exclusivity, that's not going to change no matter how many extended tantrums are thrown about it. So SE has no reason to change this business model.
