It could be in comparison to other games I guess? In WoW I could level a profession and craft whatever I wanted in less than a few days, but that also leads to their gear being almost worthless (unless it requires extremely rare mats) and they're just a side thing to do. You can't just be a crafter/gatherer, unless you want to bore yourself to death.
