Oh only if that was 100% true. Average welfare payout here in this state is 50k, many hard working people don't even make that much. But thats a discussion for another place. Thankfully there is no welfare system here, though I'm sure many would give that idea the thumbs up.

I don't craft or gather to sell anything but only to level the classes, and I have over 5 million. Selling materia, gear drops, hq drops from mobs, quest reward items (food, potions, glamour crystals), challenge log, and lastly levequest, MSQ and sidequest gil rewards were my source of money. Soon I'm going to have everything I need from the GC quartermaster and will start selling those materials. RMT is a bullshit excuse used by people who are unable to not blow every penny on unnecessary things.

I would call it welfare to have 5k-10k gil main scenario quest rewards, challenge log gil rewards and materia making available to non-crafters. People get money passively just by running dungeons and doing the story, i.e. playing the game. How they apparently manage to spend it all on repairs is beyond me.

To OP: have you already tried battle leves? It is the best way to get tradeable gear without doing crafting.

If Gil is your priority, you don't want to be a crafter at this time. You should consider gathering and that includes DoW gathering mats but they are all to be sold, not used. In terms of true faucets, while I agree there aren't many, the amount of gil on servers says there are. You mentioned Alts. Ramming alts through MSQ and side quests nets you millions. Maybe that's what people are doing, I don't know.

What about if they put in ways to gamble for Gil like Final Fantasy themed slots or triple triad matches for Gil?

There are only four ways to get gil: Quests, mob drops (only spoken and humanoid voidsent), selling materials to vendors, and roulette bonuses. Every other source of gil, most notably the market board, isn't really "getting gil" it's "trading for gil another player has amassed."

Edit: Forgot one more way, collectables reward some gil as well.

How ignorant. You can't sell the current hard content right now, nor will it be as popular once it is sellable, as the story/completion is no longer up for grabs.
