People seem to think that the Empire's main goal is stopping primals first and taking over second. I'm confused on how that got turned around. Their goal, first and foremost, is to take over and conquer. They are imperialist. Even if Eorzea had no primals, that'd be fighting just as hard. As a matter of fact, when they first invaded (after taking Ala Mhigo) and Middy crashed their prize into the lake, the seal that held back the primals were broken.

You know that that means? The primals were not a present issue until the Empire came and screwed up. So they come back 5 years later and start spreading their propaganda (just like with Ala Mhigo) About how they are on a righteous mission to kill all the primals and some players actually fall for it. They even took the time to outright attack and murder the only group doing the exact same thing. Long before there was any conflicts between them. Sounds like they want to make Eorzea's only hope of stopping Primals (which again, they unsealed) the Empire.

That was literally a century or so ago. Ul'dah is more or less more civilized and recognize that such a thing is wrong. Yes, the city state still has MANY problems, but enslavement is not one of them. Meanwhile, the Empire has been imperialist and have not learned from their ways. They continue to kill and conquer and enslave. Saying they are the same is being willfully ignorant or (what I believe this whole topic is) trolling.
