It shocks me too that people have this amount of bad DF experiences.

I'm on Balmung, I run on the Aether server, I do at least 1-3 DF dungeons per day usually with my playtime and I have done this since I started and got to Sastasha a few days after open beta weekend. I played through all of 2.0. I've done DF EXs, DF coils, DF Steps of Faith within the first couple of days of its release, I did DF for all hard mode trials, all leveling trials/dungeons, and of course my daily roulettes (although I have always always always skipped Main Story roulette because I don't want to wait for people to watch cutscenes but I also realize it's unfair to make their first trips through CM and Prae awful).

I know there are plenty of people who have run more DF instances than I have due to playtime constraints but I have done a lot of them and I can think of 1 truly toxic experience (my first time running Ifrit EX when it was still pretty new, I'd just unlocked it and queued as WAR when I was still a pretty green WAR) and a small handful of times when a bit of snarkiness popped up. Other than that, almost all of my experiences have been neutral or good. It shocks me that people run into this so much.

In my experience, good players almost never encounter these horrible df attitudes.
It's the bad players who trigger nasty attitudes from people and feel like everyone is nasty in df. Most people who snap at bad players in df aren't neccesarily douches, they could just be stressed out trying to get something done and then have to deal with terrible players.

Before you start saying my attitude is bad after reading this, I helped plenty players who weren't good, but had potential clear things and improve and I never throw a hissy fit in party chat when I'm stuck with terrible players that add 40 minutes to a dungeon run, altho I do get annoyed and vent about it in my static's linkshell.

Will admit lately I have had a few good and enjoyable runs. Still question why level 50+ and were all running through Satasha normal but burn through it all and laugh as we go. Been lucky past few weeks I guess, though by that logic I am due for an interesting one any moment.

After reading through these posts I am going to make more of an effort on being understanding and kinder in my DF runs. I don't want these things to become more prevalent. The community isn't some abstract entity, it's me and you and that guy who quotes obscure 90's anime. Sometimes I can be the reason someone doesn't enjoy this game, and I don't want that to ever be the case. I was originally going to say some quip about how grateful I will be when these WoW kids go back to their game, but that would mean being happy that this game loses subs, and thats horrible.

Nope, a good player will encounter bad players, he/she will just not mention anything and try to finish things asap at least those players are wiping the party every so often.

Sorry, but I absolutely disagree with this. Sure, bad attitudes will attract more bad attitude like moths to a flame war, but that doesn't mean that polite, kind and generally well-mannered players don't become the target of random df nastiness.

Perfect example that has happened to me multiple times and still continues to happen.

I queue up and get into my daily Ex Roulette as tank. We all spawn in and the duty starts. I do my quick "Hello" in /p chat; nothing more, nothing less. I immediately get responded to with "stfu and do your job, tank stuff" or something akin to it.

I don't see how my attempt at basic courtesy and acknowledgement of the other people in the group warranted such a response.

Also, sadly that is one of the less horrendous examples of df rudeness I have encountered in this game.

I think my "favorite" instance was dealing with a very rude player back in Lost City when it was new. They were very rude through out the whole run, then after the final boss is down they just sit there and don't roll on the loot. When I ask them to "pls roll on the loot", they say no and continue to go on a long slew of vitriol that involved telling me to " go f**k myself" and that I should " go sit on a <insert image of a very large emoti-penis>".

I feel I come across a negative group MAYBE only 1 in 100 DF attempts. I don't see this negativity often at all.

Disagree. The bad attitudes ARE the bad players. Flat out.

"These DPS suck. It's like they're playing the game with two left hands with a peasant controller. Must be old XI players."

I can make groundless hyperboles out of my ass too.
