Actually I played every major MMORPG that gets released on the market, and many minor, and keep myself informed, for work reasons, about the state of basically every one of them (not to mention basically every single player game), So yeah.
There have been an enormous number of changes, and many of them quite major.

You keep tabs on every single video game on the market? Right, that sounds plausible... not. -_-

The fact that [review scores] can have an huge impact on sales doesn't make them anywhere indicating of a game's quality.

Review scores cannot be used as an indication of a game's quality? Are you dense? That's what scores are for!

The fact that you say that a MMO can be judged in a hour or less shows how little you know about reviewing a game. You cannot review something until you see all the options offered, and there's no MMORPG that gives a player all the options in the first view levels.
It's a basic concept of journalistic integrity. You don't write about what you didn't try first hand.

Well naturally a good critic will need to play a game rather extensively in order to get a good feel for how everything fits together. But unless you're actually writing a review, you do NOT need to have an extensive amount of knowledge about all the game's inner workings to determine whether or not the game is any fun. THAT can be determined in a rather short amount of time.

"options ALWAYS good" = "all options are good".

Wrong. The words "all" and "always" mean two entirely different things. Stop failing and learn to speak English.

You seem to equate your standpoint with everyone's, or even the average. Doesn't work like that.
MMORPG systems and rules need to be as foolproof as possible, and actually one of the major flaws of FFXIV is that it's not foolproof enough.

Look. Names will be easy to remember regardless of whether or not everyone is forced to use the same format. Since you seem to be so dense, I'm going to spell this out with big bold letters in the hopes that it will get through your incredibly thick skull.

[SIZE=7]YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FORCE ALL PLAYERS TO USE THE SAME FORMAT IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE AN EASY TO USE SYSTEM!!! NAMES WILL STILL BE EASY TO REMEMBER, EVEN IF SOME PEOPLE HAVE SINGLE NAMES AND OTHERS HAVE COMPOUND NAMES!!![/SIZE]

Seriously, I don't understand why you're insisting that all names need to have a consistent format in order to be remembered. They don't. People can still remember different names just fine, even if the format of those names is not always consistent.

"to fire" as an absolute term. As such it cannot be used loosely. The verb you're looking for is "to demote".
