You're proven wrong by simply reading the hostory of the threads I opened. That unfortunately is publicly available to everyone.
If it was like you falsely allege, I wouldn't have opened many threads promoting changes to the game. Actually MANY more threads promoting change than you did, considering that every thread you open is just to whine and spout negativity, offering no viable solutions or constructive suggestions.

i like the surnames, it makes me feel more individual and it's more customization. the auto-complete for names is not a bad idea to make tells quicker.

Personally, I like them - but then, with a two-word username throughout the web, it's only natural. I like the idea that people could have an option, but then it would become a case of "first in, first served" which would be annoying. I think you should be able to choose what is displayed, though. eg. If you register the name "Loony Bob", you could choose what is displayed - you could have "Loony Bob" or "Loony" or "Bob" - if you're roaming around and you see someone with a single name and are not sure if they are who you are thinking they are, just set it up so that their name always displays in full when the character is targeted. Simple.

I really would hate if they removed surnames. People with stupid names are always going to be around with or without a surname. It allows people to have the same first name and be able to tell them apart also it is like a clan name amongst friends and family. Both my brothers play and have Draconia surname and we are the only people on my server that I have seen so far with it. I have friends who are going to play when PS3 version comes out that are going to roll with Draconia surname as well and the name is become known on the server and when people see Draconia they know it most likely someone related to or RL friends with others that share that same surname. Also I seen a lot of couples share the surname. Just like everyone else though I hate to see people with uncreative names but I finally said who cares at least those idiots names are easy to remember.

Okay, look. Your argument is that people won't be able to remember names easily if the names are not all in the exact same format. That argument is fundamentally flawed, and just plain flat out WRONG!

I know your argument is wrong because I have absolutely no trouble remembering the names of friends on my Xbox Live account, despite the fact that there is no consistent format for those names. The same goes for Steam. Some of the people on my Steam friend list have single-word names. Other people have compound names. The same is true of my MSN messenger account.

Yet despite the mixture of compound names and single names, I never have any trouble remembering them or keeping them straight, and I've never heard of anyone else having such trouble, either. So please, stop insisting that people would have trouble remembering names. They wouldn't. Period.

What a horrible idea. You should feel bad for bringing it up. The removal of surnames because you lack the creativity to fill in two blank slots with words that look nice side by side?

How about these challenged players Google a name database or gallivant around Wikipedia articles for names instead? You know, make the game a more aesthetic place for others and give your own character some more depth.
