Lol and here i thought this was a giant knee jerk reaction from SE to the outcry here.
They aren't going to react to jealousy from other classes over the AST buffs.
Arise, necro-thread! I summon thee!
OMG WHM>Necromancer confirmed.
hm, hm, hm... the crit buff was waaaay better on cure 3. with the 100% crit you had a heal better than a (non crit) cure 2. so the cure 2 trait does make sense. when do you use a cure 3 after cure 2? sometimes probably, yes, but the new trait is meh. the increased range was necessary. From the live reading of the patch notes that just ended on Youtube. Apparently Yoshi considers that the changes to WHM are a buff.
He said Cure III now has enough utility to be your go-to solution for party healing after big, expected damage, while the changes to Medica II are meant to make it more useful for prevention. Basically when big damage is incoming everyone would pack up, you'd put up Medica II in advance and them top them back up with Cure IIIs.
He also says that the new content has a lot of mechanics (he mentions damage sharing) where you want to be able to heal the tank and close-range DPS at the same time, and Cure III is obviously ideal for this.
medica 2 is NOT a shield. before the "buff" you could cast a medica 2 and the 100 potency HoT topped the people to 100% health in no time. i can understand that this was a bit op, but if you have to make changes here please don't call it a buff :O
on top of that we lose thunder from blm and got this stupid ice aoe instead? and the lowered potency from holy...
if that was a "buff" i don't want to see what happens when you actually nerf the class :x
