It was for offtank DRKs mostly. They run out of TP fast as an OT due to how Blood Weapon speeds up the skill speed. If you didn't have an AST in the party who was willing to put Spire on the DRK, you were going to run out of TP completely.

For example. We have six cards in our deck, when I switch to Astrologian lets say those are ordered randomly, as; Bole, Spear, Spire, Balance, Arrow, Ewer. When I draw Bole first, and use it, it's now gone and wont be drawn again until I either go through all six, at which point the deck it automatically reset, or I hit Shuffle. This would allow Astrologians to actually have a go at predicting the future, rather than it being purely RNG. Lets say I put Bole on the tank, nobody really benefits from Spear, so I Royal Road it, then I draw Spire. Again, nobody really benefits from that right now, so what do I do? Well, I know that I only have Balance, Arrow and Ewer left to draw, I could either let Spire wear off, or Royal Road it (wasting Spear) and give everyone one of those three. Or I could Shuffle, if I do that however, the deck resets and a new random order is created. I might get Spire again, but then I know Spire is out of the picture for a bit.

I think that would be more interesting, and thematically appropriate for Astrologian, than; Draw > Spire > Draw > Spire > Draw > Spire "OH COME THE F*CK ON".
Why don't you work for SE again? Because this is brilliant, and I'm surprised they didn't work the card system like this.

I know that people will say that in the DF it doesn't matter but it does negatively impact my ability to do my job and is really annoying when an AST uses Aspected Helios immediately after Ive gotten a crit Adlo on the MT

Please think these things through better SE, if anything the heal shields should be equal to each other
it is DF, full time Cleric Stance except when you need to turn it off to throw out a Lustrate. let Selene and the AST heal.

While the Blood Weapon change will be useful to counteract the increased TP drain from the spellspeed buff, I really hope some of the other issues with DRK (and PLD) get addressed in 3.1.

Well the random order of cards in reality, I think there are two of each card in the deck, at least with the swirly card motion it's definitely more than 6 cards. I think if you wanted a system that offered more control it would have to come with sacrifice and the best way I can think of doing that would be by being able to combine 2 cards to gain the effect of a new card.

So if we saw the cards as Water-Fire-Ice-Wind-Earth-Lightning and in that respect Ewer-Balance-Spear-Bole-Spire-Arrow or

MP refresh-Increase dmg dealt-Reduce action recast-Reduce dmg taken-TP refresh-increase att speed then you would be able to do the following.

You don't like Bole, so you draw and spread your first card, say it's Spire, then you draw bole, since you have spire on spread and bole as your second the effect you would gain would be the one behind bole so spear in this case.

Basically the rule would be you gain a new card that isn't the spread card, so you will never have a situation where you are holding a card, and the combine of the two cards would just be the held card.

    Basically this

    Spire+Bole=Spear * the special case
    Spire+Spear=Bole
    Spire+Ewer=Balance
    Spire+Balance=Spear
    Spire+Arrow=Ewer
    Spire+Spire=Arrow

Then the other special cases would be

    Arrow+Spire=Bole
    Bole+Spear=Balance
    Spear+Balance=Ewer
    Balance+Ewer=Arrow
    Ewer+Arrow=Spire

That's my take on it though, I feel the above system would better serve to manipulate the cards rather than just making it a counting cards game.

If they insist on staying in Nocturnal just shrug, turn on Cleric Stance, and go to town. :3

No Ninja TP changes? They really should make Mug steal TP instead of HP or revert AE/SF TP nerfs.

Secondly I have never once ran out of tp as MT and I've done every fight in this game as drk outside of A3S and A4S. After the initial aggro gain you only need unleash to maintain aggro in most cases and using unleash every once in a while provides a means to conserve tp.
Specifically a4 comes to mind. Me and my buddy are both dark knights and we tank that together often. Whoever is mt is attacking so much that tp runs out quick as mt in grit mode so this change doesn't help that at all. And ot needs to be in grit mode to take orbs or get taken with a dps to fight that monster or to grab lines off of someone. And stance dancing is inefficient because of how much mp it takes just to activate grit.

Whatever amount of mp you gained from removing grit will be used up again just turning grit back on
And the damage you take as ot is spread out so much that using blood price doesn't regain much mp. More things should be adjusted for drk overall to be useful in more situations then just being mt

You need Grit for literally none of these things. Cooldowns exist for a reason.

And I use them too. It's better for me to buff and eat 3 orbs to take all that damage then to have the dps stop attacking to spread the damage amongst everyone. I prioritize being a tank over being a dps because with me taking more hits away from them they can dps more.
