they already had quests that gave good sp, the leves were the only way to go b4, and they finally fixed that problem. quests should be quests and getting exp should be getting exp. also i f u want to argue, but weeble they are all the same, we repeat the same ones over and over. the ones in other mmo's still feel that way too. they take u to non dynamic mobs that if u killed one in the hole game u killed them all. and u basically do the same thing for every quest. the diff, nothing in my opinion. granted ffxiv NEEDS to bring back dynamic mobs like in ffxi or anything they do is gonna be pretty fail in my opinion.

weather there should be more excitement to the process of leveling ...maybe. like if it was like campaign battles in ffxi ..dynamic world of battles where everyone gets pushed threw waves of battles to exp grind or something. but either way in my opinion the worst part exp grinding is the wait in between killing any mob. quest exp grinds are the worst for that, and when u'r in the mood to grind your not reading. ..make them separate then when u in mood u can read a book of story and cut scenes. can't lose.

...the argument still stands i think that the argument on grind is really a argument of how quick to max u get.... not on how it is gotten there. i think people for quest story are trying to make there points for quicker grind. not for the acual quests and exp being together. it's also more about being able to solo, not the method of grind.

ffxi players like grind becuase they never play another play, the thinking that ffxi was a perfect game, that is not true

lol fun grind pts in ffxi, where you star in same place for hour and kill same mobs for hours, the battle was very very slow
    and party setup???
why you need lvling "special" DD??? where all dd suppose doing same damage???
really let die old ffxi and enjoy with new things

What a stupid assumption that FFXI players haven't played other games.

FFXI grind parties were a fun way to level when compared to how it is done in every other MMORPG, you did need "special" group setups for different camps so that you could exploit the weaknesses of that mob type. Maybe you "didn't get it", and great for you there are other leveling options being designed.

However most of us realize that leveling 7+ classes=a grind, at least for part of the experience, and as grinds go the party leveling system which allows groups to set their own pace for leveling is the best system. Solo quest grinding (WoW/WoW clones), dynamic "content" (Rift/WAR), I'm sorry but these don't begin to compare. Maybe for those of you who are fooled into thinking you are doing some special form of "content" dozens and dozens of times over again, but many of us prefer a good party system.
