Please allow me to clear a few things.
1. It is my nature to engage in self-deprecating humor. Given my circumstances, I find it easier to joke about things than complain.
2. Occasionally, there really are brick walls. About three days ago I found I could not hold down the right mouse button reliably -- not a situation you want when doing a dungeon! I cussed a blue streak, had a very brief pity party, then began doing things that didn't require much moving around; like, endless crafting. The upshot is I've leveled up three (almost four) of my crafters to 50. Receive lemons, make lemonade. As a result, I had my first 500K gil sales day as well. I also created a macro for my Orbweaver to help me move around -- managed to harvest 2400 NQ Mythril ore (500 HQ!).
3. Definitely NOT looking for a white knight. My FC mates will attest that I rarely speak in chat and pretty much prefer to be left alone to my own devices. I listen to audio books or music while I craft and I often don't pay attention to the chat window.
Hope this helps.

In my case, I'm not stating something in an attempt to be self deprecating or attention grabbing. I'm making a statement that "hey, I might have these problems in a fight, but I'm learning quickly so don't get your panties in a wad". Most times you wouldn't even notice a difference and that's exactly the way I intend to keep it.
Not to put words in the OP's mouth, but I think they intended the same with their post. It is a matter of "I am playing this game despite my disability. Please show a bit of patience/courtesy to your fellow players and don't immediately fly off the handle and rage at someone because of something that may be beyond their control." I don't think they're saying "accommodate me. Change your playstyle for me. etc."
That is right on point. First, I won't even think about doing a dungeon unless I'm confident I won't cause a party wipe. I try to read dungeon walk-thru's before I do them, but there is often a lot to remember when doing for the first time. Mostly, I do other things in the game and avoid dungeons altogether when possible. It's not anyone else's duty to keep me entertained, FFXIV offers plenty to do for the most part without having to run dungeons.
The point of this thread was to learn what others were doing to overcome their challenges. I apologize for wording my original post in such a way as to obfuscate my intent.
Doesn't really matter, a post in this thread with the intent of expecting to get flamed was an attention grab in of itself. There was no need to call anyone out on anything in the first place.
I thought it was neat to see how people are overcoming disabling problems to play the game though.
Hi! My Cousin has MS and know (not first hand though) struggle and how difficult it can be. But Just so you know. I play on a PS4 and I use zero mouse clicks. I just cycle through the things I need via the buttons on my controller. Ive gotten very fast at it and I actually play faster and more controlled using a PS4 remote than a keyboard and mouse. Ive done Coil and all the hard content (minus savage Alex) using my ps4 remote and not once can anyone tell im on a ps4. Id say give it a shot![]()

My boyfriend who suffered a TBI due to a motorcycle accident has trouble playing sometimes. He has left side neglect, slow reaction time and memory problems. He finds it helpful when I am running with him to guide him through things. Maybe an FC mate can help you over voice programs or just even run with you. Some people harass him for poor dps or not dodging things, which makes me really frustrated. I use to be one of those people who would complain about poor players. Since my boyfriends injury it changed the way I look at other players who may struggle with content cause you never know the real life struggles they may be facing. Some people just really enjoy the game, like my boyfriend since he is unable to work, this is how he spends much of his time. I wish other players would help encourage people rather than kick them or harass them. Who knows, you may make someones day.
I play Tsukie cacsusenti on behemoth. Play with me any time! And don't worry about the vocal minority this community is actually pretty nice.
