I've finally hit the point of no longer trying to force game time in. It's actually been extremely refreshing to not have a feeling that I'm somehow behind on stuff. Seal Rock is getting better each run, and while I'll be lucky if I see the Field Commander's coat this year, it's far better than running EX roulette. Honestly getting that coat for glamor is more of a priority than getting full eso gear, and I'm only capping because I'm enjoying PVP.

That said, I've been playing other games and finding more time to do stuff I've been wanting/needing to do. So all in all, I'm enjoying the "rut".

Seriously. After wow bgs of "let's leave the healer alone to defend" and "ganged up by rogue/cat" for a number of years, pvp can go blow off.

I don't know if I'd call it a rut so much as maintenance mode where I'm just capping my tomestones, doing my treasure maps, and making some gil on the side until 3.1 is released.

I rarely run dungeons anymore so I'm pretty much ignoring the tomes.

I pretty much log on, maybe craft a thing or 2 for GC turn ins and maybe kill a few hunt marks.

Can't say I'm really enjoy my DoM main job right now. I know it sounds silly ... But still no carbies for SMN. It's like I'm playing a Job that doesn't suit me.

It's a little hard to enjoy the game when you aren't happy with your character.

Not a rut. I've been tooling around on an alt to see the story but the main reason for that is the internet in my area is abnormally terrible lately. All I do on Gale is cap eso. I missed the last cap (darn) after getting a ring and I don't have the heart to grind Expert with my current connection.

I'm ofc gonna be playing a lot on 3.1 but if they mess up relic progression ( i bet they will SOMEHOW lolllll ) i might just unsub cuz atm the only thing i enjoyed doing was crafting and the ocasional gathering. But if crafting the new stuff in 3.1 IS GATED BY FAVOR MATERIALS then idk man, SE just wants to make high end crafters suffer.

Can u imagine if ur new relic required 5xadamantite ingots & 3x astral birch lumber?

Also the incentive of being rich has been dead for me as y the hell do u even need gil past 10-20 mil? I finally earned 30 mil in 1 week back in 3.0 launch and was like wow this feels ironic.

Maybe if i raided i wouldn't feel that bored but to be this bored before the 1st semi major patch (3.1) is kinda disappointing.
I was bever this bored during 2.0 etc.

Ya I'm not sure what they going to do, or what they can do really? People are bored 2 months into a 1.5-2 year expansion. Sure 3.1 will add content, but it's not going to add another expansion's worth of content.

I feel like 2.X had a way better progression path with dungeons > 24 man raid > ex primal > coil.

Now the progression path looks like dungeons > Alex normal > ex primal if you feel like it > Witcher 3.

EDIT: I think a decent challenge like the one you described. Getting adamantite ingots and astral birch lumber for relic weapon is just the thing this game needs to shake things up, and help get rid of the monotonous ex roullette grind!

Ya I remember the rut....Log in, run coil, cap tomes and craft some shiz, log out, see ya next Tuesday...Then i took 1.5yrs off to play ESO and just try other games...came back and now I have everything from i90+ to do lol. I understand my case is unique but maybe a little time off is good?

I'm in a rut, I guess, when it comes to crafting and gathering. I'm normally perfectly fine with grinding. I was one of the first in my FC to finish every step of relic. This is a MMO after all.... grinding is what you do, but red scrips are killing me. The system is soul sucking.

Bought a house recently. Between moving stuff, unpacking, doing stuff around the house, etc....I haven't been on in like a month. I never even got around to Alex Savage or doing the scrips. Don't even have a DoL or DoH to 60 yet, and only one DoW to 60. Honestly I can't say I have an urge to get back on the game any time soon either.
