I'd rather jobs not be able to glamor each others gear. Ever.
More variety and less restrictions between 'Disciple of War' and 'Disciple of Magic' gear however, sure.

You dumb? Do you honestly think everyone would choose to wear the same thing or to look all alike if we could all glamour mix'n'match anything we wanted? There would be more variety and many, many more different looks available. This could only enrich the experience, not diminish it.
Weapon display can be turned off and the other player have to be in the party to see his class icon.
Instead of allowing to glamour gear that you can't wear, SE should just bring back "favored classes" status on gear. Everyone can wear it (if it is not class/job specific like AF gear), but only the favored classes can use it to 100% (get all the stats)
I just want to wear my hollowed spirit, was in a silly mood yesterday and couldn't glamour it![]()
Considering that many of the new gears are basically palette swaps anyway, the fact that we still have such major glamour restrictions is freaking stupid. I agree that Artifact and Grand Company Gear should be perma-locked regardless, but I really like the idea that you can glamour a set of gear if the corresponding class/job level matches. For instance, I would love to rock some of the DoM thighboots on my character as a NIN. It's a solution that I think can work out for everyone.

What need is there to know someone's class outside of a party situation, though? I've been racking my brain and I can't think of a single reason why you would need to know that.
