What need is there to know someone's class outside of a party situation, though? I've been racking my brain and I can't think of a single reason why you would need to know that.
Then you didn't think very hard.
AF gear sure, it doesn't make sense to let another job glamour it. But the Kirumu Coat or Wolfram Cuirass, for example, have zero special reason why they couldn't be glamoured to other jobs.
Please tell me why I can have two palette-swapped versions of the exact same shirt (Divine Light and Divine Hero) and yet only be allowed to glamour one of them. Does my character magically lose the ability to button up the red shirt when she is a different job? It's exactly the same as the white one-- literally the only difference between those two pieces of gear is the color. There is zero logical reason not to allow BRDs and NINs to glamour both shirts.
I think you're confusing "sense" with arbitrary reasoning.
This counterpoints the above quite nicely. There is no sensible reason why, it simply is, because videogames. Please tell me why I can have two palette-swapped versions of the exact same shirt (Divine Light and Divine Hero) and yet only be allowed to glamour one of them. It dosn't it's just a simple failure of understanding how the glamour system in this game works. Regardless of the "sense" it makes.
But this is getting tired. Simply put: if you cannot equip the gear normally, you cannot wear it. Complaining about it all day and night isn't going to change it. But that is all these forums are mostly.
I think everyone here understands how the glamour system currently works. The topic of this thread, though, isn't about how it currently works. It's asking about a requested change to how it works and whether people would prefer it to work differently. Currently, you're right. We cannot glamour gear that our current job cannot wear. But the discussion is about whether or not we should be able to if the rules were going to be changed.
Why do you think the rule should stay as it is? Earlier you stated that "It takes a bit of common sense to understand why wearing different jobs gear when you can't wear it normally, makes no sense." Yet now when it's pointed out how little sense some of the restrictions make (especially on gear that's nothing but a palette-swap away from stuff you can wear), you're instead saying that it's just the way it works regardless of "sense". So which is it? Or were all your posts about how a change wouldn't make sense really intended to just point out what the current system is?
Apparently not, If people understood how it works, they wouldn't be here asking why their war cannot equip ninja gear. as it was said, many times already, they cannot equip the gear normally, so it can't be glamoured, so all the defenders rushed in with "why can we wear swimsuits, chocobo oufits etc etc, but not job specfic gear?"I think everyone here understands how the glamour system currently works. Because you can wear swimsuits etc on any job. thus you can glamour it, the only "argument" here is simply people crying that they cant wear job restricted armor. but want to. Which will never happen. which is why i said it takes common sense, to know that something like this will never happen. and this topic wouldn't still be going with "waaa why cant i wear everything!"
So i do not think everyone understands how it works, or rather, they do NOT want it to work like that, unless you are admitting this topic is more or less "i want it, damn lore. reasoning, logic" My only mistake is not realizing how complaint topics works, that they are for complaining, and wasted posts.
There, now off i go. Back to your wishes and dreams.
