Will we EVER be able to glamour gear that we cannot wear???

In real life I could wear every outfit. In fact what you say goes against logic and common sense.

Plz no job specific gear shouldn't be shared. Its iconic for FF imo, drgs wearing drg AF and not whm wearing drg AF.

More general pieces of gear like shared armour should be allowed to be worn by all as its nothing really special.
But one thing tho that makes me kinda not want unlocked glamour as ppl will all be female miqote in bikini armor mixed sets RPing they r a battletorn kitty from the slums of u'ldah.
It doesn't break my immersion but it does make me cringe when ppl dress ugly/ uncoordinated.

Glamour restriction would not be so bad if they were at least consistent:
1. DoW can wear DoM gear but not vice versa.
2. The reusing of gear that's locked to 1 job/class and using it for another job
3. Just recoloring the same gear, but lock each color for different jobs: Sharlayan Set, MNK/NIN typically share recolored version of the same gear

My personal fave is the rainbow (?) set. BRD/MCH wearing ilv80 casting gear, MNKs wearing the crafted i110 healing set, etc

So far the only thing about is Tank wearing heavy armor, although DRG can wearing some of them too

Yes, restrictions should be loosened up, but as many have say keep AF restricted at least

None of these are things our characters are doing in game, and it's a horrible analogy to boot. Our character doesn't suddenly stop knowing how to WHM when they switch to BRD, and they certainly don't forget how to wear clothing.

You missed the point of the post, if you can't logicaly wear it, then you can't glamour it, it's not hard to understand, Would look pretty dumb for a whm to be walking around in full heavy armor glamoured, this may be a game and "realism" does not always apply but you kind of have to draw the line SOMEWHERE.

XI does just that >_> Got the gear? Got the job a high enough lvl to use said gear? You can use said gear for glamour on any job. Example being, you can have a 99 pld with reforged AF and lockstyle(glamour) that set onto a lvl 30 rdm.

It's also free too, which is nice. Instead of having to drop 9k+ (sometimes 30k because for some reason we can't buy in singles yet...) just to glamour 1 piece.

Never understood why people would pay that much for it, the glamours are incredibly cheap to make and you can't honestly tell me that you don't know at least 1 crafter? between the vendor mats and the crystals a prism is worth maybe 1k tops.

Iconic AF gear (including re-colored versions like the i90 myth gear) should stay job-exclusive. Most of the rest shouldn't. It just requires a second set of class/job identifiers on gear, to show both a list of which jobs are allowed to wear it as real gear and which ones are allowed to wear it as glamour.

Lazyiness, The same reason people buy gill, even tho its incredibly easy to make, just lazy and refuse to put any kind of effort. you would be surprised at what people buy at what price, Even if the item is right next to them on a vendor, they will still buy it off the MB..

It would not look "dumb" for a WHM to walk around in armor. Why is the line there for you when currently we can all play in swimsuits or as creepy snowmen or naked? There is no logic in your post. Logically, my character can equip everything she receives, as it's just clothing and it doesn't take rocket science to put on clothing. This is especially true when you already have a class leveled on the same character that "can" wear it.

Well yes. This is also desperately needed to bring FFXIV's wardrobe system to something even remotely close to on par with other MMOs.
