I can careless what you say, because in the end Im enjoying the game for what it is and its only improving, Haulting its progress will only do the game worse, If you stop the games progress the game WILL ulitmately die.

If the MAJORITY heard they shut this pig down, and started retooling it from the ground up, then it may generate some genuine interest in it when it relaunched.

Seeing as you don't care about the Games Success I'm going to put this as bluntly as I can for you Its rude but at this point hearing your Petty complaint about something that will cause this games destricution, It leads me no choice but to say this:

" Please if you have no desire to help with the games future and your concerned to Halted the games Progress when they are working with the engine along side of make content to sustain the Current playerbase, and if you want to take that way from the players the "Always Something to do" feeling Then please respectfully leave this area and come back when you feel FFXIV is ever to your standards*

I think everyone has different ideas on what will destroy and save this game. I for one am of the opinion that destruction of the armory system, optimal rank system, and oversimplification of the crafting system will destroy this game. Others think to the the contrary. They think that this will in fact save it.

But I think most can agree that a lack of shadows will NOT be the death of this game, although they would still be nice, all the same.

The Minority is the same 15 people on the forums bashing the game on here, as the rest of the players on the game is actually enjoying the game and the game has a Server rise on besaid you do the Math. and you know what its people like you that really piss me the f*** off!

As I said I can careless what you say and i;m sure alot of people agree that your nothing but a low life troll I'm sorry for the language and Mods you can remove this post if you deem it necessary but this little tard has pissed me off to my Boiling point!

Couple of points:
1. I believe they recently made it so only active players can post on the forums (if I am wrong about this then my mistake)
2. The majority of people who have played this game moved on and don't even care enough about it to post here.

You may see me as a low life troll. That is fine.

The reality is if I didn't care about this game and want it to be successful, I wouldn't be posting on this forum, with the hopes that some mod or dev will read my post and think there may be some wisdom in what I say.

I guess it depends on one's definition of majority.

The MMO market is teeming with potential customers, many millions of them. The best way to make an MMO is to target a portion of these players and cater an MMO for their tastes, niche or otherwise.

FFXIV currently maintains a small fraction of MMO players, a playerbase of 30,000 If I am not mistaken. If these 30,000 players are one's definition of "the majority" (i.e., the small fraction of people that are actually willing to play this game), then perhaps one needs to reassess one's definition of the word "majority".

That is true. Ideally they should not have to choose between fixes. Both are necessary. And content is especially necessary. But then again, if server and client issues hamper the introduction and creation of content, then perhaps it does deserve to be prioritised.

If the content is built on and around a flawed foundation, then you eventually are faced with a choice

1. scrap and/or re-work said content to function with new more viable foundation
2. institutionalize and band-aid foundation

The farther we get from launch with existing problems with game client, graphics engine, net code, and so forth, the more and more I believe it will be institutionalized into the game.

Halting the game may end "your fun" but it would certainly have given the developer an opportunity to fix the game, up to and including coding an entirely new game client and server infrastructure.

That is a lot harder to do if you have an army of cry babies demanding new content or else they are going to quit their free to play game.

I think he has a valid point (this captainpicard) but solving the server/client issues at the expense of content may not be the best way to solve it. Surely it cannot be too hard to create content simultaneously with server and client fixes.
