So, eeehh.. No.
"I'm so drunk right now" - I translate this as "I'm not drunk, I'm needy for attention."

I think the bigger issue is someone expecting an easy clear on non-faceroll content on the weekend.
lol if only alchys knew how to tell when theyre too drunk to do something...
Im with OP though, had a healer once on a DF for Brayflox(sp) ... 2-3 wipes and kicked before the first boss. He apologized and admitted he was drunk but unless he's offering to pay repair bills its a vote kick.

Unfortunately, you can only rely on the player's responsibility to decide this. Some people just don't care enough, and others don't feel that they're going to be a detriment to the party. Most of the time, I find that players are able to perform well enough or even better after having a few, they are typically more sociable, easygoing, and don't harm the run at all. Sorry you had a poor experience, but in my travels, that's not the norm. FF14 is a social environment, and I've found it's pretty common to find someone unwinding with a drink.
Like I said, it's player responsibility to decide what's appropriate and what's not. Far more often I've had runs impacted by someone who stayed up past their bedtime, or has gotten 3 hours of sleep over a 72 hour period, and just fall asleep mid-run. You just never know what you'll run into in the DF, and if you come across someone who can't take care of themselves, you don't owe them anything. Kick them or drop party, and move on. Too bad you have a time crunch with your weekly, but that's all you can really do if someone's crashing your party with a party of their own.
When you click to join the DF, it really needs another window with something that states: You are about to queue using the Duty Finder, in which any and all types of players may use, no matter how high, drunk, or stupid. Are you sure you wish to continue?
Yes/No
Why don't we use an idiot proof box for every choice we make in this game?
Seems like we need them doesn't it? With complaints about common sense issues as these. People forget the DF is not your go-to for content clears, it's a last ditch effort because you don't have friends/FC available.

We once brought along a drunk FC tank to The Vault because someone in the FC needed a first run and all I had at the time was a DPS. I ended up having to translate for the poor healer.

I find this amusing - not because OP is incorrect I mean I see his point - but I run stuff every weekend and weekends are the times I drink. Unless I'm completely floored RL theres literaly no issues in playing 'drunk', just like the very strange ability to always find your way home after a wild night, your fingers just do what they always do. IF anything - I'm a much more forgiving healer at the weekend, so dps in those AoEs all you like! Only difference noticed by other people for me is I tend to turn my mic off if i'm on teamspeak because no one wants heavy-breathing and squeaking about cats for a whole 2 hours XD.
Also - apart from Final Coil and Savage - theres literaly nothing ingame right now you cant get through by just faceplanting your keyboard and licking the WASD keys. The game is more about having fun with genuinely awesome people to me.
