I can still play blm while watching videos and not paying too much attention. most people complaining about enochian/Botd aren't complaining because its "complicated" they are complaining because the rotation is too strict (spelling) and doing anything other than turret might make you lose your buff that make or break your dps.
Heck, sometime i lose enochian for using apocatastasis(which is a offgcd ability) or miscalculate my mana, go in umbral ice and get a rng 2-3 seconds before the mana tick i needed to swiftcast blizz IV
The reward is that you do possibly the highest ST of anyone when allowed to tunnel. Same with MNKs, whom suffer the same issue, but execute things a little differently.

BLM do less, but do the most ST ranged (I think, bit ignorant of ranged ultimately). So it's essentially the same problem but with a tacked on ranged tax.

This is essentially how they were designed. The highest theoretical ceiling balanced by the most sensitivity to interruptions. Some classes are given lower ceilings but greater capability to handle interruptions. If you were not punished harshly by interruptions DRGs would dominate every single fight hands down. This way some fights overtly favour certain classes (BLMs on Ravana for instance), which keeps things interesting.

Couple this with the fact that you can mitigate these disadvantages with good team/solo strategy, positioning and tactical usage of abilities (hello bombs popping my combos forward a step while I wait) draws a greater dichotomy between virtuosos of their class and those who are not. I'm ok being screwed by BotD's tight timer when I screw up; because when I don't screw up, I do the most DPS (similar boat with MNKs).

This - in my view - is good class design.
