Did the game get too complicated, or am I just an idiot?

So I been playing FFXIV in it's current form for 2 years (5 if you count 1.0). That whole time I have not had any issues. I have been able to carry myself in a dungeon or a boss fight just fine. As a BLM, I been using Raging Strikes when it's not on cooldown, casting Fire III to get my Astral III up, then Fire/Firestarter, then Bliz III to regain my MP with Umbral III, and Thunder, Bliz or Scathe in the split second it takes for my MP bar to fill up, rinse repeat.

Then here comes Heavensward and suddenly I'm being booted out of dungeons left and right and being insulted for being a drag on the party. I don't get it. I just been doing what I always been doing, along with adding Ley Lines to the mix (still on level 53 so nothing else new yet).

So am I doing something wrong here? I mean this has not been an issue until now.

Yes they made it more complicated for the sake of making it complicated.
Usually in games when you get new skills they unlock a new potential in your class. However in heavensward new skills simply makes your class feel more restricted than it was before. It's very odd indeed.

Well, since I'm only at 53 BLM, things haven't changed much except my gear and the Ley Lines move, so I don't understand how I'm catching flack at this point in the game. On top of that, how the heck are they seeing my damage? I mean if they're busy fighting, I doubt they're gonna scroll through the fight text and add up my numbers in their head.

blm at 53 doesn't play any dif than in 2.0.. in fact blm barely plays dif at all til level 60 so getting booted is retarded unless your dps is so low as to be non existent.. which im sure is not the case.

they could just be paying attention to your cast bars in the party list but chances are they were parsing you.. which is fine if the don't call out about it assuming they were you could report them to a gm, but its barely worth it really as its just a case of move on and ignore them

It'd be easier to ignore them if I'm not getting votekicked out of dungeons because my damage per second went down for a split second. As for parsers, do people really do that? Sheesh, talk about taking a game so seriously that you gotta hack it to keep an eye on your party mates.

Well, whatever's happening here, it's sucking the fun out of the game. It's starting to make me wonder why should I be paying $12 a month for another source of stress in my life. ARE YOU SEEING THIS, SQARE?!

The idea of someone booting a Black Mage that isn't just casting Blizzard II over and over is mind-boggling to me, especially on leveling content. That's... just weird. I mean your gear isn't anything to write home about, but you're not running full Darklight or anything.

That sounds odd for getting booted that much. The only thing that changes really is around 58 with bliz 4 refreshing enochian and fire 4 at 60. At lv53, the rotation is the same.

Beyond count since I got above 50. If it's not votekicks, it's public shaming for DPS being "too low" despite having a friend gauge me and it is in an acceptable range.

For the situation you mentioned, you don't need a parser to see this person needs to either 1) Be politely subjected to constructive criticism and protips or 2) get kicked if they continue to be a drag on the party and causing constant wipes.

You do your job, I'll do mine unless it's obvious that there's a problem.
