Tanks sorta control the pace, but at the same time communication with the group sets the pace, so all you have to do is ask and I will go wild with the dungeon, the healers or dps should not ever pull a mob ahead of the tank all it takes is to type pull more please.Maybe everyone misunderstood me. I don't pull mobs as a dps or a healer. I let the tank pull. But I'm tired of hearing TANKS control the pace. If you have a good group with good aoe and a decent healer that want to go fast, the tank no longer holds the pace. He must adjust to the party. If a healer or dps pulls a mob, it means speed up. My comment wasnt in regards to the OP. It's in regards to the whole "tanks control the pace." Tanks feel entitled and it's completely disrespectful to the other 3 members in the party
If DPS pulls, time to stop using aoe taunts.
I think it should be changed to 3 votes not 2 in a 4 man, this is clearly abuse of the system. This was a nice system or so I thought when it first started but now it's just used for little petty things, vote abandon as well. They need to overhaul them both.
Most people would rather play content than watch it, and for the most part it only takes a sentence or two to explain mechanics. That was a kick done in very poor taste. I'd be lying if I said I didn't get annoyed with people who stop and talk and hold the group up, or people who don't bother watching a video and want the group to stop and explain the same exact things to them that they could have gotten from a video.
But I would not kick someone over it. Very childish.
Know why they kicked you OP? Because it doesn't take a majority to do a successful kick. It only takes 2 people to vote yes, since the kicker is an automatic yes and the person being kicked gets no vote. So it's a race to see who starts the kick first!
If it's for difficult content like a raid or smth then sure you might need to go watch a video but just for basic dungeons? Wow have some patience.
So far in JP community, I'm still fine with people even they do derp style I still can accept it. But what I wonder is, is NA community really that bad?
If they want to play it and go in blind, they can just go in blind and not ask for explanations. Most people would rather play content than watch it, and for the most part it only takes a sentence or two to explain mechanics.

Wanting explanations then choosing to hold the group up by making them explain instead of getting your explanations from a video is a completely pointless waste of everyone's time.
Getting explanations from a player =/= playing content over watching it. Both that and watching a video are watching people explain to you. One just wastes time of the group, while the other does not.
Lol no, the polite way to say speed up is actually, ya know, saying "please speed up a bit if you can"This right here is exactly what's wrong with ppl. 9 times out of 10 if a dps or healer pulls an extra mob, it's a polite way of saying speed up. You are not the only one in the party. If it's your first time, that's fine. I will adjust and go slow because that's what needs to be done. I honestly don't care about speed, and I'm not gonna pull any extra mobs. I never said I did.
My comments are strictly in regards to the, "me tank, me all powerful, me lead, me set pace, bullcrap. All 4 ppl, party composition, skill all play a factor in the pace. Ppl need to be able to adjust, and I just want tanks to get off their high horse. It's nonsense
Pulling an extra mob is, quite rudely, trying to FORCE a speed up.
I'd much rather the tank and healer be comfortable with the pace than try to rush it and cause everyone stress and probably wipe to boot.
Yes... yes it is that bad.
Pacing in dungeons is set by the party as a whole. The tank does the initial pull, the healer keeps the tank alive and the DDs try to kill the mobs before they kill the tank. If, in any of those aspects, things progress in any direction, then you adjust. Picking the pace up if the DDs have things handily killed or slowing down if the tank is taking more damage than the healer can heal or the battles take longer than anticipated.
If you have a new person to the dungeon in the party then they need to be informed on what to expect and the pace adjusted accordingly. Not telling them anything is just setting the party up for a rough ride. Originator, you keep doing what you do, it was the right thing and deserves every praise.
Been a tank in mmo's for 15+ years, for anyone saying that, the party sets the pace, your wrong. A good tank will explain boss battles, will mark mobs, and know the mechanics, the tank is the ringleader, hes the tower, and you take all commands from the tower. In Mmos of old, the tank, was the one that had to do research, had to keep track of timers, etc... if they didn't know mechanics/take charge they were not doing their job. Its always been tank leading, dps following, and healer helping, nothing has changed. Its also the tanks job to find the pace of the group, no one group is the same, being the tank, its your job to know what pace the group can run at, and who and who doesn't know the mechanics. To the OP, you were doing your job, and doing it well, this new generation of gamers, are just impatient, and want things done in 5 mins, they would have never lasted in old mmos.
You pull, you tank.
You impatient, you tank.
You want your pace, you tank.
That player is busting his ass so you can safely kick things in the butt with little effort. Tanks ensure that you get to enjoy your dungeon. Do try to remember that.
