I think what Muahbec is saying is that the damage mitigated by SS (outside of progression, where both might be needed) is significantly less than the damage healed by Indomitability in AoE situations and the damage mitigated by placing SS for tank busters is less than Lustrate will restore. So, it's often a more efficient use of Aetherflow stacks/GCDs to just heal the damage with Indomitability/Lustrate than it would be to try to lessen the damage with SS, since you'd still have to follow the damage with an ET+Succor/Indom or ET+Adlo/Lustrate anyways.

Spreading E4E is "fancy", but rarely actually useful, except when there are multiple tanks taking damage from multiple sources (A2 and A3 hand-split).

SS might be useful against raid wide damage but for tank busters? Nope.
10% damage mitigation for a single target that eats a golden aetherflow stack is not worth it.
Think about it, if tank receives 7k damage it will only mitigate 700, the 6,300 damage would still need to be burst healed.
Does 10% helps?
Sure do.
But as i said, in raid wide damage, where you will use your AOE heal anyway, reducing 10% damage taken from a whole party its really useful and powerful, but using it for a single target its not worth it. E4E may be RNG but still, 20% change to trigger in every hit, and that will not reduce the damage the TANK receives it will reduce every single damage that targer deals.

I thought I was specific and tried to keep it simple - RNG vs no RNG was literally my only question and Gideon nicely explained the thought process so thank you Gideon for that. It's disappointing it's not more useful. No need to continually be rude to me because you made assumptions. That's not my fault.

Another buff thread???? AST is fine..we need minor card tweaks and 1 cooldown to increase our healing... If u buff us too much no one would want a whm as we already heal like them just that we lack cooldown to increase our healing... I bet u that half of the astrologians in this thread are people who is currently leveling, or doing duty with bad tanks .... Or simply do not know how to use there toolkit ... I'm ilvl 190 now and I had no problems with it ... There been times where I felt a cooldown to help me heal would be nice... But other then that I don't feel like I need anything and I solo heal a1 a2 a3 Ravana and Bismark and still have MP to play with and I will be doing savage once my partner gears up and I'm excited to heals as AST in it

Most people commenting have geared level 60 AST's that they've done most if not all of the content with.

Once you do savage, come talk to me. Feel fre to give your CO healer a back massage, because he's gonna need it with all that carrying.
