Another buff thread???? AST is fine..we need minor card tweaks and 1 cooldown to increase our healing... If u buff us too much no one would want a whm as we already heal like them just that we lack cooldown to increase our healing... I bet u that half of the astrologians in this thread are people who is currently leveling, or doing duty with bad tanks .... Or simply do not know how to use there toolkit ... I'm ilvl 190 now and I had no problems with it ... There been times where I felt a cooldown to help me heal would be nice... But other then that I don't feel like I need anything and I solo heal a1 a2 a3 Ravana and Bismark and still have MP to play with and I will be doing savage once my partner gears up and I'm excited to heals as AST in it

Lvl 60 AST, WHM and SCH here. Your lodestone tells me you don't have WHM/SCH at lvl60, so please stop with this "ast is fine" nonsense. It is not. Wanna know why? Level whm and acn to 60 and you'll find out.

You don't even need to go that far. The power difference amongst the three at 50 is noticeable even. Yes I know AST gets important cooldowns post 50 but so do the other healers, and the other healers have far more at their disposal both at 50 and at 60.

This is correct. All the usual healers I run with we always have open dialogue regarding healing between AST, SCH, and WHM and watching PoV videos from the more successful classes (WHM/SCH) it's easy to understand and detect the shortcomings of AST. While I was leveling AST/clearing content I would find myself saying 'If I had <insertSCH/WHMability> I could have saved/healed through <insertASTunfriendlyscenario>'.. which in DF you come across this a lot.

I've only leveled WHM to 50, but I can still tell when things get dicey that it's a huge strain on my co-healer whether they have to stop dpsing or bust out extra heals. Sometimes AST just falls flat and they have nothing at their disposal to recover from it with.

I posted lots of information about AST in other threads, specially the one named "The Positive Astrologian thread". There was a debate there about Selene x cards in which I, and some other people, compared the effects those buffs have in actual fights, and showing how they're not as simple and straightforward as they seem to be. You can look it up, if you want, just don't imply people are not posting information just because you're too lazy to look.

Just because an astrologian has aspects of white mage and a scholar it is quite a strech to keep asking SE for the cooldowns those two other jobs utilize..

Then why bring them? If content can be healed by someone playing a sub par healing class, it just seems the content is a joke for the two other actual healing classes. That's the situation we are in now. No amount of card buffs will fix that. Unless of course the cards can provide on demand raw healing buffs.

I believe that if you want a healer to have the same cooldowns as a WHM, just go and play WHM. The saddest part is that the OP was made by someone who doesn't play the job.

I thought I was specific and tried to keep it simple - RNG vs no RNG was literally my only question and Gideon nicely explained the thought process so thank you Gideon for that. It's disappointing it's not more useful. No need to continually be rude to me because you made assumptions. That's not my fault.
