I would expect such an entitled opinion to come out of someone who wants more for nothing because they missed something exclusive.
It does not surprise me for someone who have missed a special to have sour grapes for missing it. But the exclusivity of these specials are what are in part what makes them specials and the demands to release them again directly takes away from that.
So the compromise here is to put a pay wall on it so that only those who are willing to vote their emphasis with their wallet will be able to bypass a limited edition exclusive. SE is bending on their exclusivity desires in trade for compensation, the players get told that their items will stay somewhat special because people will have to pay extra to catch up and get them. SE profits from that opportunity. Otherwise, we'd likely not have it at all. That was the 1.0 policy.
This is a slippery slope fallacy. There's no precedent for it to expand beyond what rules have already been established here. "No Pay to Win" is the clear and repeated message we got directly from the Producer/Director and it's stayed that way. We were told that previous seasonal event items would go on for sale in the Mogstation and this has not changed. None of this has occurred in obscurity what so ever and they were fully transparent with this. The reason why the Mog Shop is expanding is because we're starting to hit the game's typical holidays now.But the monetizing of assets to this game is something everyone should be watching with a level of concern. The item shop is growing incredibly fast, mostly on the coattails of earlier successful seasonal events. There is no way this won't affect future development, but in what way? Will there be more new seasonal items than ever before? Or will new art assets show up in the item shop first, without being implemented in game? It's worth being nervous about, at this point, and strong player opinion might have some emphasis on future decisions.
This is all loud, clear and completely transparent. There's no cause for concern at this stage of development. If and when they break their promises and precedents when it comes to the Mog Station, we will have cause for concern. Not before. Anything short about that is just fear-mongering to the benefit of a person trying to restate a dissatisfaction they had with the original concept.
You are fine, and entitled to your opinion. But please don't use false pretenses and logical fallacies to support them.
I myself am neutral on this stance. So long as SE keeps its word on the limits of this service, I don't care either way.
