A lot of DF tanks don't even try to tank the tankable adds or aim the fire breath away from him.

This is very true. As a main WAR, I have to enter a Zen-like state not to backseat tank for a lot of these DF matchups.

it also applies to a degree to smn pets where chocobos and fairies don't even realize titan-egi (no point in other egis, but titan is the pet designed to take dmg) is there and it's very cumbersome having to manually target him because he doesn't even show in the pt window for your heals, either.

This is another good point; it's hard to support pets because they exist in that same NPC maybe-space. They get AOEs at least but it could be so much better.
