How do other sch handle all the keybinds?

I recently bought a razer naga. I've been able to adapt to the new mouse for all my jobs except sch.

For the other jobs I bind my primary skills to the naga while cooldowns go on the keyboard. This has worked wonders. My fingers rarely leave my movement keys for more than a split second. I'd really like to achieve this on my sch because its a huge improvement to my play.

The problem with sch is that I have too many dps skills that I need to use. Its awkward to dps so much without those skills being assigned to the naga but my primary healing skills are already mapped there.

I could use ctrl or shift as a modifier for my dps skills but having to constantly hold down a key on the keyboard hinders my movement a lot and defeats the whole purpose.

I'm thinking of moving my primary healing skills to one hotbar and my primary dps skills to another. I can then switch between them as needed. Has anyone else done this? How well does it work?

I use modifier keys ctrl and alt. Least used abilities like buffs and the like are assigned with ctrl modifier and self cast abilities with alt modifier. Most used abilities like physick and Adloquium use regular keys that are in easy reach.

Thanks for the reply. Now that I think about it I could move a few sch buffs and cooldowns to the ctrl modifier.

Related question for anyone. Is there a way to setup self cast without using macros? Also, macros prevent ability queueing, right?

Personally I have 4 skills + 2 modifier keys set up on my Logitech G600 the other 6 buttons just sit there because I don't like them and I am shunning them.
Have three hot bars for skills:
1: Healing skills - No modifer
2: DPS skills/Alternative rotation - CRTL modifier key bound to G13
3: Cooldowns - ALT modifier key bound to G14

Thanks. I may do something like this but with a change hotbar bind instead of modifiers.

Don't forget Shift works as a modifier as well.

I think this might be my real problem. I use qwe for movement. Back pedal left unbound. I think I need to rebind shift to caps lock or change my movement keys to asd. Its really uncomfortable hitting shift with my current setup. I need my pinky to naturally sit over a modifier key.

    Thanks.

There's a lot of keys around WASD that are only marginally useful with the default bindings.

I've rebound these to actions: zxcvbadtg`~

I have logitech G600 where the driver itself supports the key shift, when I hold one mouse button, all the other mouse buttons come from a other layout. With Naga.. I don't know about all of the buttons it has, would it have a button you can assign as some modifier key which you can hold with your pinky/ring finger, while you use the skill butto s on the side with your thumb? That is, essentially using the modifier combos, but with no need to use it from your keyboard.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

I have a priority system that I use for all classes:

1- I map all my most used instant cast spells to my mouse (using a Lachesis, tried Naga but it hurt my hand real bad). This allows me to move and cast with greater ease.

2- Most used spells with cast time (Cure, Medica, Stone, etc) are mapped to keyboard (WASD = movement. Q, E, R, F, C, V, Z, X, 1, 2, 3 = my most used cast time spells). I can't move while casting but these keys are in easy reach of movement in the event I do need to book it or cancel a spell.

3- Most used cds get mapped to modifiers starting with mouse and then keyboard (Shift-E, Shift-R, etc). I've never used anything but Shift. CTRL feels too far away/unnatural for quick reacting.

4 - Abilities that I don't use often or with any haste in combat either get mapped to the F keys or I just click them (e.g., Protect).
