Windows 10 [Did you upgrade?]

Upgraded on 29th as soon as I woke up, and today installed it on 3 other machines (so 4 in total) everyone is happy with the upgrade no issues upgrading any machines, no major issues using the system, instant boot times and much snappier than 8.1.

I only tested FFXIV for a trial roulette and it might even run slightly faster (DX11) no issues starting or playing.

Yes

2. Did the game start with zero issues?
Yup! Thought did have to do another restart of my PC after the first full-boot. So if you're having issues here ... "Did you turn it off and on again? D: "

Smooth as heck

4. Noticeable changes? (Game wise)
Honestly, it's just running a lot smoother.

5. Personal experience you would like to share about it? (Windows 10 / FFXIV with W10)
Not going to lie, it does take a bit of configuration on your side to turn off things like apps you won't use, Wifi-Sense, etc.
For those NOT using the enterprise version, there is a way to turn off data collection~ :3 Clicku!

Nope, I just went from 8.1 to win10 upgrade.

Luckily changing the GUI to "almost win7"-style required one tiny 3rd-party program and about 10 minutes of work.
So yeah, the GUI is a legit complaint, but it doesn't make the system "suck".

Anyways 10 fixes the gui issue, so it's simply better than both 7 and 8.

10 is the same crappy flat UI as 8 with just a tad more shadow so it isn't as flat as 8. 10 is a mess, just like 8. Windows 7 is a super clean ui and looks nice. Games run the same and 10 scored less in the benchmark for ffxiv, though that can be a driver issue till nvidia irons them out.

Nope, upgraded about a month ago.

No issues starting the game.

Eeeh... alt-tabbing is wonky, like it just resizes the window instead of actually minimising it to the taskbar. Also some random crashes, really rare. (NVIDIA GPU here.)

Nah. Lalafells are sadly still in the game.

Win10 in general feels much snappier even after weeks of usage. If you're one of those power users though, who tinker with and tweak core system components, you might end up screwing Windows up with modifications that meant no issues in 8.1. After which the lack of syncing apps and tiles in Start might feel strange. By the way, "live tiles" aren't actually "live", for some reason they don't seem to update realtime. Kinda annoying. Same goes for the fact that Windows Update now forces device drivers on you - if something is botched up, you can roll back to an earlier driver, but the next time it checks and updates, you'll be stuck with the new bad one again - no way to disable individual updates like in 7/8/8.1.

Eh, like I said, I updated a few builds back (Insider here o/), and while those updates do preserve personal files, they felt more like clean installs every time. So I'm not sure where I am concerning this. xD

Upgraded from 8.1 (with classic shell) to 10 (removed classic shell) and haven't had any issues yet. Personally, ever since I saw the tech preview, I really liked the new look, so I'm definitely glad to have that back, along with a start menu I don't have to hide with a 3rd party app.

FFXIV ran fine on the first boot, and a few update-related reboots later. I almost wanna say it looks better, but I'm sure that's the consumer in me that I try to keep in check. At least the upgrade was free.

They (microsoft themselves) straight up say in those explanations that it doesn't matter if you turn stuff off because they simply turn it back on again.
