Alexander is a joke of a raid yes its difficult no ones cleared A4 yet but im talking about the fact its just the same lay out as coil and its an embarrassment for them to do this to thir game their relying too much on the duty finder for stuff I'd rather there be content that would be impossible for me to join with pre grouping than have more stuff like A1-4 or savage.

    That's the point well remove the expensive gate. But we need less things in duty finder there absolutely no reason to group with any one in this game out side the current hard end game raid.

    While I agree with you on most of your points, I just want to point out that FFXI is a still a theme park, it just has a more open layout than FFXIV. But yes, much of this desire for more FFXI game play comes from nostalgia. I remember when Diablo 3 came out, and people were complaining against the lack of builds, one of the devs mentioned that in D2, 99% of the players used to the same build.

    Go back and check it again. Never once did they say features would never be included, just that they took a different route with ARR. You'd have to be brain-dead not to understand that FFXI did plenty of things well that would still actually work in ARR.

    On topic, for me I only want one thing. One tiny little thing which was in 1.0 and FFXI and yet still hasn't made an appearance in ARR other than Hermes's Sandals. Interesting and unique stats on gear. Gear for me is so vanilla you could take its extract and bake cakes with it. It's boring. Every single 'upgrade' is the same piece as last time with bigger numbers.

    Where's my 'enhances cure potency' or 'boosts Graniteskin'? Where's my 'increases enmity' and my 'enhances aetherflow'? The gear in FFXI was amazingly diverse, and there's no reason they couldn't do the same here either.

    That's the point the negative Nancy was trying to make. Any suggestion here is just stroking nostalgia. And rather pointless. And he's right. If SE copies an aspect of ffxi to ffxiv and keeps the name, they people rage because it will feel different. If they copy it and change the name no one will notice people are just looking for that old ffxi feel. Rock and a hard play for SE really.

    That would be actually amazing and give uniqueness to my gear.. Like another person stated being able to change the bonus with a Gem or something would be a great idea as well.

    Yes, there is a very good reason why such gear won't work, and that's because those stats are worthless. This is one of the weakness of the the current design of the classes; we all have the same skills, and we have to play a specific role. If a piece of gear had the "enhances aetherflow" on it, people would crunch the numbers to determine if that's BiS for either SCH or SMN, and if so, everyone would go for it.

    The only jobs that need 2 sets of gear are tanks, because when you're OT, you're essentially another damage class. People need to realize that the vast majority of players of an MMO simply go with what's the best setup for your class.

    FFXI had a similar limitation (in that every job had the same skills), but the lack of enforcing roles meant it was possible for different classes to serve different roles, so such gear would be useful.
