Is crit real?

Noct Shield works the same way, it's not rocket science to understand when it crits. Lucky crits are lucky, e.g. RNGesus.

If an AST A. Benefic crits for 5000 the shield will be 5000. If a SCH Aldo crits for 5000 the shield will be 10000. And I don't even have a SCH (yet) and know that.

Crit is the best secondary stat for SCH. I have actually 740 crit on my SCH and I love it.

A good AST never play with noct stance anyway. So no, it's not even close to SCH mechanics.

They do provide the same benefits/function with different added perks (Insta Cast vs Dbl Potency on Crits).

Noct stance is fine. It actually fixes the whole 'no emergency healing' problem that AST has, because 250 potency heal+250 shield on an instant cast is broken.
A. Benefic isn't even close to the reason that noct stance is weaker.

I'm at 729 (740 with food) and it crit pretty often. Of course it's a bit rng but more you have crit more you have chance to crit. passed next to it is a mistake if you play sch.
