Is crit real?

Anyone else starting to really doubt crit? currently on my scholar I have 620 crit, more with food, yet I still only crit about 1/20 adlos , through progression I have been trying to keep my gear crit oriented but I am really starting to think that it doesnt really matter :/ ,, anyone think this? or does the rng gods just hate me? any tips on whats the best sacrifice to the rng gods? kids? elderly?

I don't know if it's just me, but any healer shouldn't have to rely on crit heals to perform well. Most games I've played, heals couldn't crit, kinda felt weird coming into this game where it was possible. However that being said, when a heal do crit, I think it's just a nice bonus, like a Freecure proc or a Enhanced Benefit II proc.

When it happens, it happens, when it doesn't, oh well, not like I needed it =3.

I wouldn't call being able to negate some damage to a lot of damage a bonus. It's a staple of the job. Crit adlo on tanks that are about to be hit by tank buster requires less healing, equaling better MP efficiency, turning focus on other party members, more time to comfortable you focus on mechanics, and/or fire out short, support DPS, which benefits from crit rate.

doesn't even have a scholar to know. so wouldn't understand ... also what games have you played that healers can't crit? every mmo I've ever played lets them crit

I don't really know myself whether crit or determination or the buffed Spellspeed are worth it. The only ones I know I'm getting value out of are Mind, ACC, and Piety.

Noct Shield works the same way, it's not rocket science to understand when it crits. Lucky crits are lucky, e.g. RNGesus.

Noct shields do not double on crit.

Crit is definitely worth it on SCH. The ability to shield someone for 7k+ is awesome, regardless if it's reliable or not; an Adlo crit means I can spent twice the amount of time cleaning up healing or more time DPSing. If I fish with 2-3 casts for a crit before Deploying, it's possible for me to shield the entire group for 7k+ each. Not counting if I fish for it on a WAR, which would easily be closer to 8.5k+.

Definitely worth it.
