Please let us *really* ride airships

u sure? they felt way longer lol. either way 3mins is 3mins longer then most want to twiddle there thumbs to get to where they actually want to go. the boats were cool to take for me though cause i rather afk on a boat for 3mins if that was it, then run on choco for even 1min. afk 3min or pay attention running for 1 i'll take the boat lol. pretty sure though it was way longer then 3mins lol, time to kill sea horror took longer then that i'm sure. think took 2-3mins just for the skellies to even pop as an event.

FFXI's airship ran every 15 minutes ( IIRC) .
If you missed it it would take that long for you to reach your destination. Meanwhile, your exp party would be waiting for you to show up. WOT.

I'm glad it's an instant transportation method. If they add the ride portion in the future, I'd prefer it be optional, with menu options such as "Take a nap" and "Enjoy the view" upon takeoff.

For one, I'm still disappointed anyway.

For another, I'd rather the reaction to the lack of an actual airship ride (as opposed to a glorified teleporter) be as loud as possible, even knowing they warned us before. At least then, hopefully, the developers will keep it and accompanying content in mind for the future, rather than thinking 'meh, nobody wanted it anyway' and not bother to expand it at some point down the road.

Besides, it'd also have the knock-on effect of subtly warning them against just quietly deleting the ferry's sea voyage and all, rather than iterating on it and putting some content in there.

the problem is, when people complain about something that they know will be changed soon, and the thing they are complaining about is only temporary, then it is not complaining anymore, it is not criticism...... it is whining, it is QQ, it is bitching.

I would like this to happen. If I want to get to another city quickly I should be able to. If people want to take the scenic view they should be able to.

I think they shouldn't release airships until they can really be ridden. Casual players & New players will get so used to instant airship travel; and when the next patch is released to make them ride-able, those players will cry and gripe about that.

If they plan on adding it in later then I'm completely fine with it. I want the airship views and passing landscape to look stunning. Take your time, SE.

That was partly the point of this Topic, although not everyone understood it and saw it as a complaint (probably stopped and read just the title ). Again, it is not and I'm sure the Community Reps will see it as a feedback, as it is. A desire to watch the beautiful landscapes of Eorzea, the clouds and the sunsets, from above.

So, again, if they already said in the past they were going to add first the simple transportation, and in the future the full travel part, I missed it. I read a lot of things, and there's much heat in Thanalan, so that's possible!
Could someone provide a link with this information, please? PrettyPrincess, do you remember?

That was also what I was requesting: if this is just a temporary measure to give us airships and if in the future we'll be able to actually ride them, maybe after the changes on the map and on the weather (I think a “choice” option, like the one suggested by Lerris, would be good for those adventurers who don't feel like admiring Eorzea from above), or if it's going to stay permanently this way.

And if this was already answered in the past, my thanks to anyone who could provide a link.
