I am glad your having fun doing the exact same thing every day a couple of times a day. I personally get bored doing that which is why I dont. Once a game becomes a chore it is no longer fun for me.

Again thats your choice. You simply don't like the game and its mechanics which means you probably shouldn't be playing it. Sometimes the truth needs to be heard. FFXIV is not going to make any gamechangers in design, but what it does it does well and allows for casual people to progress.

Sometimes a game just isn't for YOURSELF personally. There is nothing wrong with that. I hate WoW with a passion but I respect its popularity and would never trash it because i'm of a minority opinion on that game.

I love FFXIV and will continue to play it because I enjoy it. Sometimes it is that simple

First I suggest you read posts my original quote was in relation to a ther mmo telling you to level alts and how this one is basically saying the same thing due to lack of content.
The second quote was basically explaining why I feel this way.
Why is it all to common place for people to say "go play another mmo we don't want you here" whenever some one has a suggestion complaint problem or different play style. You sir might want to evaluate never posting on the forum again if that is your only suggestion or defence.

Because YOU say there is NOTHING to do in THIS game. That is an outright lie. You just don't like it. There is a massive difference. You don't like grinding, MMO's are ALL grinding and that will never change because the nature of online games is to keep players playing behind lockouts to earn money. If you don't like that, then play a single player game like a Witcher 3 ect...

You are correct and I apologize I reread the past pages, but it still doesn't excuse the fact that you are complaining you are bored and feel like the only thing you can do is level an alt. In the grand scheme, This game just isn't what you're looking for and there is nothing wrong with that, It won't change the way progression works anytime soon and if it does it will be years from now after it declines in revenue.

There is noting wrong with leveling a gathering class, Fishing is actually fun in this game lol. But running dungeons over and over is standard in every MMO, and even the ones in development not out yet are based on doing that. Don't expect any changes. Even Everquest Next with its grand idea of living world events is going to come down to massive grinds to gear up

Um, this is actually the problem for a lot of folks. we are literally doing the same thing we've been doing for TWO YEARS NOW. Only thing that's changed is the name/color of the tomestone/raid. That's it. I have repeatedly stated I don't mind grinding, what I DO mind is the same exact grind, repeated forever. I've advocated, in this thread and another, to make the cap per job, not per character. This increases the grind, not lowers it. Why do I want this? Personally, because I like playing multiple jobs and want them to look unique, something we can't do with Generic Healer Gear of Tomestone #456928376. I find it fun. Isn't that why people raid? Because they find the challenge fun? Isn't that why we're here?

Yes, and Revenue in FFXIV is GROWING every quarter. So why would the system change if profit is GROWING? Simple, It won't because SE is doing what the MAJORITY want. You have to remember that on the internet the people that talk about the game are like 1% of the total subscriber base. People who are having fun have no reason to write posts online unless they are fans of the game and feel the need to defend it.

Im not saying the system is perfect, its far from it. But it works and makes money. Its not changing

And if you were to read my earlier posts before you quoted me you would find out I was (and still am to a point) defending the current system. I understand how SE's progression works your problem is you don't seem to understand that other people don't care for it and choose to do something else.
The only change I would like to see is more ways to get tomestones and to increase the cap.

It is pretty brazen of you to tell me this game isn't what I am looking for and I should quit. How exactly do you know? You certainly haven't read all of my posts and you miss interpret the ones you do.
Maybe this isn't the forum you are looking for and you should try others there are plenty out there that share your same views and you would enjoy

I agree with you Tuathaa that the choice to play a game or not is up to the individual and someone else saying someone should or shouldn't play a game is being a bit crass.

My Thoughts:

Truth is I'd like to see a system that can at least satisfy a nice middle core approach. Final Fantasy has been around for so long that many fans of the original classics are in the work world now, and really don't want to have to repeat dungeons over and over via roulette to get the best currency. If someone has two hours a night to do something, they aren't going to want to waste it on something like an old hat static dungeon they've seen a bajillion times, even if you pay them out the nose.

It's just, how do you argue with someone who has only ever been taught via previous games that harder raids always mean higher iLvL and that is the only legit way to get better gear?

We understand your argument. The problem is that will NEVER change in an MMO of this type. FFXIV is already the most casual friendly MMO I have seen in years allowing everyone wether they only have 1hr a day or 10hrs a day progress at the same speed. If you can only spare an hour or 2 you can still raid in FFXIV and that is a massive change to the MMO system and why XIV has been a massive success!

I get you both are not into standard MMO mechanics but you ARE playing the wrong game. Being a final fantasy single player fan is irrellivent. Im a massive fan of those games too but they are totally different genres. You are looking for an MMO that is 100% geared toward your style. Guild Wars 2 is your MMO, you will LOVE that game because of how its story and Living story seasons work and gear doesn't matter.

This MMO however is 100% different and simply not for you.
