Some of the community managers do play too.
Are the devs end game gloryhogs? Probably not. And that's a facet of game design. A game developer that tweaks a game so that it is difficult for him to beat loses the perspective of how hard it will be for the players. (In theory)
I sense you do not play AST as your main. Since AST is my main, i have had no problems keeping up with WHM or SCH. Playing AST is a little bit more RNG, and also about knowing when to use your CDs appropriately. Bad player playing AST, going to have a really bad time keeping up. Have a good player play AST, then be ready for some amazing heals.
I love AST the way it is, if healing potency is too important for u then play on Nocturnal and u will have the same potency cure/ cure II / medica I / succor have. Is challeging and fun.
Same for BRD / MCH, they do a little less DPS but buff the other players performance. Not all the jobs NEED/can to have the same difcult level to be fine.
PD: Only Celestial OP may need a little buff, so far i save it to have 5 extra sec of refresh.

You must've FATE grinded to AST or never ever read Nocturnals tool tip or even bothered using that stance.
It has to be one of those three.
Tested - Ilvl 179.
Diur stance: Bene I = 2509.
Noct: Bene I = 2670.
Diur Bene II: 4280.
Noct Bene II: 4487
Weak shields don't save no one and runs out your MP. No thanks. That stance needs a big ol' buff.
Saving post limits:
So which do you use more.LOL no troubles healing ANY of the casual content atm, including normal Alex and Ex primal, i dont do statics but many AST clear A1 savage ATM while the SCH take care of DPS.
Simple mats: Cure I (potency 400) Benefic I (cure potency 380 + 5% = 399 / Nocturnal) Also lv up mostly on dungeon and only had problems when tanks sucks.
Dirunal or Noct? Because why would you ever switch out for
2 Regen's for weak shields? The 5% potency is nothing, at all. There's much more to it.

#1 You not always get the same numbers from the same spell. I am just making a comparison betwen WHM / SCH / AST basic spells. We dont have ADLO but a less mana cost/ less potency single target barrier. You must've FATE grinded to AST or never ever read Nocturnals tool tip or even bothered using that stance.

#2 i like both actually, when i play on Nocturnal (i like noct for Alex4 for example) i usually focus on single target healing and feel the figh easier. Is still challeging cuz u need to be focus and manage mana really well.

That just shows they had 5 million subscribers + which is an arm and a leg above what FFXIV has. They still have waaay more than FFXIV. This is an MMO that has had multi-million subscriber bases for over a decade. Ignoring it would be silly.
Look at what works, what hasn't worked. What brought in subscribers, what lost subscribers? etc.
They don't have time to play, they are to busy rolling around in big piles of money.
