I'll try to understand. Are you saying there aren't many pieces of low level gear for less gil? This is being tackled in 1.19 with recipe changes. It'll be easier for low ranked gear makers, to make low level gear on-the-cheap.

With how easy it will become to create 1-20 ranked gear there should be no reason for a rank lock.

Even if you do rank lock every piece of gear, you're making it pointless to even purchase lower ranking gear. The system as a whole, I believe, still exists as it is for the soloing community.
Also, rank locking gear isn't going to solve the problem of there not being enough gear. Frankly I don't see how it'd solve anything but the desires of 33 people who want their useless Buccaneers gear to actually mean something.

Currently, rank appropriate gear gives no benefit other than a few extra defence points. Suggest instead gear have better stats, and a harsher penalty for wearing it on non-optimized classes and/or ranks in the future.
What you're suggesting here is a lazy, soft option that will do nothing to improve the game in the long run.

Instead of penalizing the players in a ridiculous fashion, create better rewards for wearing rank appropriate gear. Perhaps in the form of higher stats or full set bonuses.
I admit the system presently is still pointless. However, by rank locking every piece of gear you're giving the illusion of progress and benefit when in reality the system offers nothing good in replace of what it's replacing.

    The system now make me

A: Make me level up a craft to wear gear for my level. Due to no one selling the item i needed for my level. If the item is in stock it be HQ and overprice so why buy it?

B: If item is in stock it be other color from the other item i bought so my fashion is gone due many diff type of color parts.

C: The DOH are not making much money due to them only selling the item that most people buy. So mean that more and more craft would undercut or overprice there items. Which then mean the

C-1: DOL only would sell the item that is needed to make that type of item and top of that there not making a lot of money with other junk.

If you lock the gear to people level it would make craft sell every item for every level and they even sell more diff colors. They would make profit for everyone even the DOL.

Make a system that allow you to copy/paste any gear in the game to your underwear which then allow you to wear it for looks.

They can't make that every item drop from a mob or a dungeon like FFXI due to how FFXIV layout is set. The crafting job are the only one that make 98% of all gear in this game.

So stop thinking i'm penalizing players when i came up with hard core facts and issue why they should not be allow. I even made a idea how we would fix it for players who like wearing gear only for looks. If you want the DOL/DOH to make more profit and people to waste more money this is the best way. Right now people are holding on to 10+mil due to them not buying every gear every time they need a upgrade. "Note: you don't have to buy every time you need a upgrade you could wear the same gear and wait a little longer for a new set then buying each upgrade" like what most people did in FFXI if i was going to a party and you know you going to get 5 level no need to buy a gear set for each level just wait and see what level you get and you buy from there.

I don't need pity but i'm LD so i know i have issue with grammar i hope you can understand what i said now.
