This is pretty much what I feared and suspected would happen...
The buffs were a step in the right direction, but AST is still a HEALER and needs to be able to handle half of the healing load or you're not even going to make it past Faust...

"Astrologians are okay"
"Aegis is wrong and just bad lelelelel"
"git good scrub SovereignAegis"
"Level up an AST Aegis. You know nothing John Snow"
Whoops, guess who was right. ME.
I want to see astrologian viable and so I make my threads. Telling me to "git good" and then I see threads like this is just astounding.

All the content up till now was healable just fine with ast in the group. I think i expected the same for savage, a little difficulty, but not near what i experienced last night. AST healing in savage is ... REALLY close, it can be done, but it's like.. you have hope you make it and nothing goes wrong. AST healing right now is next to impossible for savage and it shouldn't be like that. We should be able to do all content with any combination of healers just as fine as a whm/sch combo. i shouldn't have to be ripping out my hair kuz benefic II spam, lightspeed, ES, bole can just barely keep tanks alive towards end of faust (on most attempts it's not enough), or have to do twice as much aoe healing at whm for all that aoe in A1 attempting to top people off before double prey then bene II spam on prey and ES if i still happen to have it or if i don't need to toss it on my tank> oh crap now i'm out of mp and can't heal through anything else for the rest of the fight... and that's in the first 2 mins... it's shouldn't be like this. I don't see why AST cannot be put to be just has high heals as whm or sch in either sect they pick. We should not have to sacrifice healing and mp just kuz we also have they cards that just tickle... it just... it should be doable with any combination of healers.... SE pls help
I don't understand why people thought they were going to be "okay" for Savage though. We have FCOB T13 where a Divine Seal Medica II can only top off everyone after a Megaflare without Fey Illumination & Whispering Dawn. AST can't do that, so they spend extra GCDs where a White Mage would've already been spending time Stoneskinning & Throwing Regen for the upcoming flatten & triple flare breaths."Astrologians are okay"

Same with T6 Savage. Albeit iLvL Sync and overgear, 2.0 Scholars & White Mages still need to pump out heals together during the lase phase or so. Swarm Damage, Thorn Damage, Laser Damage, Tank's typical autos and cleaves... I highly doubt AST would be even be able to do T6 with level 60 skills and level 50 stats. =/ Unless you go the AST & WHM combination which you gain almost the same benefits; however, you lose Eos and have a pseudo Selene Scholar.
It's so disheartening... That's exactly what happened when I switched from AST to WHM. The Faust kill \o/. The best part was that my aero killed it >_>

You,uh, do realize people weren't complaining about the fact AST needed more buffs in your complaint thread. They were complaining about the fact (1) you complain a lot [as proven by your post history] and (2) there were already two other threads complaining about the AST "buffs" and didn't really need another on this forum."Astrologians are okay"

Really, stop taking things personally
That being said, yeah, AST needs more "umpf" by the sound of things.
Thanks for the information hoping to hear one success story, but as of right now astro does not seem in a good spot. I am giving it two weeks, before really complaining astro is not viable card. Since there are still kinks to flaten out and maybe after people are going for next weeks clear they might find a place for it. Keep up the posts of what people find are the problems or if people find out what partner or how astro can be used in these early clears.![]()

Hey guys there are tons of other threads to tell Sovereign to git gud, lets focus on people explain their experiences with astro in AS. XD
Fixed.
I was excited for AST buffs in the last patch but this is unfortunately what was to be expected. If SCH/WHMs aren't breaking a sweat in Alex normal, we knew Savage would have to push them to their limits, limits which are far beyond those of AST, sadly...

SE needs to run A:S under geared with AST/AST or SCH/AST so they can pin point the problem and fix it.
