    Right. The Optimal Level system works fine, it's just not explained anywhere and the data isn't shown properly. Low level players equipping high level gear have no idea how much they're hurting themselves. You don't get nearly as much of a bonus out of Optimal level and it deteriorates MUCH faster.

    All the NM/Dungeon gear they've been introducing has class/level requirements though, it's clearly the direction they're going.

    I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders.     This is similar to my own opinion. To elaborate a bit, I'm fine with the unique/untradeable having a required level since (in theory) one would need to be close to that level in order to obtain the gear in the first place. On the other hand, for crafted stuff (for example), you can just walk into the market wards and buy it at any level, provided you have enough gil. Definitely need some indication on "optimal level" gear as to what the actual stats you get from it are when equipping it below optimal level, though.

    Sorry but the only people who want this is people who want to dress up there female Chars and don't tell me i'm lieing.

    if not make the 1-50 level lock then all new gear from now on should be level lock. even new craft item should be level lock enough said.

    i'm sick of buying higher level gear because no one sell gear that i need for my level and if there is some i have to look like a rainbow due to people not selling all the color or i have to buy over price +1 gear.

    You can easily check and realize that you gain more from a piece of your level and class, its not hard to do a quick comparison -- but personally I prefer just buying gear 10-20 levels higher and growing into it. Why?

    Because why buy a piece of gear that's 30,000g for level 10, when you can pay 50,000g for something that level 28 and level the short distance into it? If my level 15, why my I going to be more than double to upgrade to something close to my level and then have to buy something else a few levels later when I can just buy the higher level stuff. Sure the stats aren't as good as something perfectly appropriate for my level, but 1. Each time you level, those stats increase, and 2. unless you're constantly dying and having to make constant repairs you end up saving money.

    I'll agree to this "put a level restriction on everything!" nonsense when people stop selling low rank gear for more than higher ranked gear costs. I've restarted a few times to test out the way the game plays from starting level a few times, and each time I do, it seems like low level gear is increasingly more expensive -- which is silly. No piece under level 20 should be more than 20k -- and don't even start with that "money falls out of trees!" nonsense, because if you're just leveling a job with leves, you don't end up making real money until you hit Rank 20 -- which is long after you need to start upgrading. And there are only so many quests that give large scale rewards.
