Sure you can say that they could add more options of playstyles into their current job but that will ultimately end up with a certain skill tree outputting better performance results and everyone else would just stick to that build which makes the system pretty much redundant.
I think you are paranoid or simply don't like to put in the time and effort to spec into a skill tree. Not once have I ever been told in any game that has a skill tree. "Oh you have to have this spec In order to join the party." Stop making stuff up. I think you bring this up, do to the rotation currently in the game.
