    Skill Trees

    Hello all, I was wondering if they will be implamenting Skill Trees in this game in the near future. I have notice there is a lot of copy and paste in this game. Not a lot of originality in some areas or rather freedom to choose. I\\'m not sure if I\\'m the only one that does not enjoy having the same rotation and skill set, as someone else using the same class. I think this could help a lot with the leveling system as well.

    This could add utility for classes and the option to choose what utility you would like to bring to your raid or group. Your skills will not conflict with one another. Example I can bring a DK with a monk without worrying about our buffs/debuffs being overwritten.this would help a lot. Also for those who are support and would like to be dps(bard) only, that would give them the ability(choice) to do so.You can use a spec that allows you to be more support oriented and less dps. Btw these are just exp. don\\'t have to be this way, just feel skill trees could really help expand our current class without increasing the level cap too fast, in the near future and give us some diversity and give the players playing those class more of an identity.

    I have a lot more but I\\'m at work and writing this on a iPhone, so I will stop there. What do you guys think, should we have a skill tree and if so how do you think it will improve the game?

    I seriously doubt they will ever add skill trees in this game. It's easier to maintain balance with classes the way it is set up now. As for my own personal opinions on it, I couldn't care less either way, but I don't see it happening here.

    If they ever add anything that resembles skill trees, they should add FFX's Sphere Grid - but it's a really far away dream.

    It'd be more likely for SE to implement FFIX's ability "point allocation" system to handle "true" customization in Traits, Cross-Class Traits, Skills and Cross-Class Skills.

    Why do people keep asking for skill trees? SCH and SMN are exactly this, minus the few 'choice' decisions. It's horrible and you should feel bad for wanting it. You don't even get the illusion of choice - everyone will tell you that you're bad and your build is wrong. True balance needs to be able to rely on what players will and will not have, you can't balance around 'what if'. XIV has done amazing at balance thus far (Compared to other games).

    Skill Tree is a pointless system in FFXIV whereby there is already a freedom to change jobs on a single character. Sure you can say that they could add more options of playstyles into their current job but that will ultimately end up with a certain skill tree outputting better performance results and everyone else would just stick to that build which makes the system pretty much redundant.

    I think you are paranoid or simply don't like to put in the time and effort to spec into a skill tree. Not once have I ever been told in any game that has a skill tree. "Oh you have to have this spec In order to join the party." Stop making stuff up. I think you bring this up, do to the rotation currently in the game.

    Thus making you think that people think that you have to have a specific rotation or skill tree. Let me ask you this though. How many people have ever asked you what your rotation is and then Told you. you can't join cause you don't have their specified rotations?

    Party finder would like to have words
    No Ilvl:xxx? Kick/Can't join
    Fail once? Kick
    First time exp bonus? Kick/Disband
    Wiped? Disband

    In 2.0 get DF Ifirit HM/EX No caster? Disband/Bail

    So you tell me again how people wont force people into doing something a certain way.
    And that is without touching on in depth the "optimum setup/rotation" guides that people will be expected to follow to do any serious content

    Also to add you clearly haven't thought about all the time and effort that will have to be put into giving every job multiple switch-able rotations and how they will all fit on the GCD and how they will interact with procs and other things, and even then you will never have a true skill tree due to how the combat system works.

    I think you are ignorant or clearly uninformed of how MMOs work these days. Sure there are lots of other games with the skill tree system but in an MMO environment it is nothing more than creating a layer of make belief for players to think that theres variety for them to choose on how they want to play.
