I'm saying if I were you I'd prefer a stable game over super high resolution and SLI.

I can't play more than 10m anymore without getting dumped with an access violation error so I get to put up with crap ass game graphics until they fix it because I'd rather not keep crashing.

Grab nvidia driver inspector and add the profile?
Just copy the AFR/whatever settings for the game's .exe from your current driver. Might lose a few FPS, though. But by a few, I mean single digits.

That sucks I'm sorry to hear that.

Yeah I might give it a shot.

Ok so I went and tested it.
With 347.88, I could not get SLI performance to work correctly no matter what.
Be it through standard settings, or Nividia inspector.

HOWEVER, 347.25 the first driver to support ffxiv dx11 actually works flawlessly so far for SLI and performance seems up a bit.
Might want to try that one out for people having issues still on 347.88

You're gonna have to do some digging for the last driver to properly support the 2xxs.

I think it might be 314.xxish?

One thing I've seen resolve the issue in other games is going into the nvidia control panel and trying the different settings for "maximum pre-rendered frames."
Be aware that lower settings like 1 or 2 will drop your FPS, while higher settings will cause your GPU load to run higher. However, a good test is either 1 or 3, as both of those are generally a good gauge.

And for anyone else looking to try this option, if you're running SLI, you need to have atleast 2 on this particular setting, since that's how SLI works.

And @Xoriam, if it works for you, rock on! The 347.xx drivers were the best, since anything later is when nvidia decided that QA wasn't worth it. Or something.

Another thing of note is if you're still having blackscreen issues (anyone) to go back and try disabling the Nvidia HD audio device and swap off of an HDMI to a DVI cable if possible. Also update your onboard audio drivers. The default windows ones tend to make a lot of systems take a massive dump for some mysterious reason.

Well I had thought a week or two ago that the driver update for AMD helped, but it seems like it was just luck. I've been struggling to go more then a hour without the client locking up and crashing during loading. I just attempted to log into the game, and it took three attempts before I got in. Here's a image of my event log, it's very unhelpful.

Has anyone with this specific issue attempted to completely delete, and re-install FFXIV? Meaning uninstall, and delete all folders, then try again? It seems like a crazy shot, but ya know... I keep thinking why are just some of us having this issue, and it effect all users, regardless of their GFX or PC configuration. It's almost as though its effecting only certain people. Is everyone here possibly had this game installed sense realm reborn launched? And are the people that it works for, new players that freshly had the game installed in the last 6 month or something? This is just very odd. What frustrates me the most is if you see my previous posts. My wife here has a very similar configuration on her PC, and she has 0 problems with dx11. Shes got AMD CPU, GFX, using same OS. Well That can't be right either. I just remembered I got a new SSD about 6 months ago. Hmmm.. Does anyone that's having issues have a SSD? Is there anyone with a HDD that is having issues? I'm literally grabbing at straws here. My wife, has a SSD and no issues, so it's unlikely to be that.

That's because there is no issue. It has nothing to do with the game client and everything to do with what is installed on the players system or they have a defective GPU.

    There are 3 main causes:
    1) Software hooked into the game client (eg MSI Afterburner, Ratr, nVidia Experience)
    2) Microsoft Visual C++ runtimes are out of date (which means you haven't been running Windows Update like you are supposed to)
    3) Drivers are out of date (particularly you haven't updated -ALL- your GPU drivers, this includes the iGPU in Intel i3/i5/i7 chips)
    4) Bad GPU hardware (factory overclocked parts)

If it's not the first 3, which are entirely within your control, it must be the 4th option.

Otherwise absolutely everyone would have the problem, which is not the case.

I think your answer helps no one on this forum.

If you've actually read any of the DX11 threads, you'd have realized I've given solutions repeatedly. Y'all need to learn to use the search button.

If you haven't done the first three points, then your hardware is bad, swap it out.
