Ryaz made a very good point, and I'm reminded of the post about MCH cooldowns. While I feel Reload and Quick Reload are fine, things like Wildfire and Rapid Fire (and the situationals, i.e. stun/silence) could really stand to have shorter or separated cooldowns. That more than anything might be a significant improvement.

Common error here, while it is only a 5% increase it is not limit to one target. The reason being is that the turret gains the ability to add the debuff when shooting so long as its under the affect of hypercharge. In theory it could potentially last up to 25s and be used on multiple targets as the debuff is re-applied every time the turret hits.

That is at least for the rook, I'm not sure if the bishop being an AoE turret hits all targets with the debuff or just the target of the MCH.

I can confirm the AOE turret can and does apply the debuff to multiple targets, but so does Bard's Foe's requiem which is 100000000000x more accessible and sustainable.

... And literally double the effect before battlevoice, in which case it is 4x the effect.

Truth. However many Partys will have a higher physical damage to magical damage ratio, insofar as party members go. The standard being 2 melee and 2 ranged, one normally being a caster leaves it 5/8 dealing mostly phsycial damage counting the tanks. Depending on the healing needed, usually only one member will really gain from the requiem so it sort of evens out. It's probably just safer to say this though: Physical heavy parties should lean towards a MCH, and Magic Heavy for Bard.

I think this is sort of important too... I mean hypothetically, if my static asked me to MNK for some reason (let's pretend I leveled it).. I still wouldn't do a great job, even putting out my best.
I don't care about being the server's best monk, but I do care about (trying at, lol still far from it) being the server's best bard, because I love the job.

Yes your totally right MCH/BRD are not needed in the content we have RIGHT NOW. As in Ex Primals and easy as hell Alexander casual mode. You can do any of those with almost any combination of classes and it wont matter.

However it DOES matter in actual endgame progression raiding. That is what this game is balanced around, those that can play their class to most of its potential.

That is where support DPS shine. Sorry if there isnt any content like that out right now, but there will be in 4 days.

Except a class shouldn't only be useful in endgame content and a burden in other content. A well-built support class supports the party through everything, not just in a couple of instances.

It isn't really a burden when the class is played well. Many who complain are just simply bad at the job. Its not on top by no means, but if your failing dps checks, either your party is lacking or more knowledge/practice is needed on your part.

I haven't had too many problems personally and I tend to be 2nd on the list, but any good DRG, monk or ninja will beat me easily even if I do everything perfectly. I'd have no problems with that if my abilities were actually supporting them all the time, but they aren't. They're too situational for that. We may be able to clear the content ok, but I've literally had people tell me they're worried about me in Bismarck because I'm a MCH, even if I'm doing better than the other dps.

It's a stigma unfortunately that happens all to often, when a job that looks awesome has baddies flock to it, people will just blame what they believe to be the weakest link based on what were likely many bad prior experiences. That and many have cried out that BRD/MCH are bad and by extension those that play them are bad. I myself was in a Ravana Farm with a bard drg and nin for dps, all of whom I was told by the bard I was outdps'ing consistently and by no small margin. The bard and myself were kicked after a few failed attempts. I really was only there to find out where my MCH stood in terms of DPS to Ravana, as I had farmed the weapon on my smn prior, so it didn't hurt me none, but its still a little sad to know these things happen.
