I have a strong feeling we aren't done with our elf friends yet.
Those being Ysayle, Haurchefant and Estinien
Estinien is now fused into Nidhogg and may or may not also have Lahabrea lodged in his face. It will be an...interesting future for sure.
Hi.If they start bringing back people who are dead then this game sucks ass at storytelling. Hauchy literally took a spear thing into the stomach. He wasn't even that important of a character
and no one cared about him and even thought he could be a traitor after all this happened. He is dead, on a grave near Ishgard. Let the man rest in peace.
Ysayle got blasted plenty of times and fell into the skies. Please do not bring people who are 'dead' back. I love those 2 characters but it's better storytelling that way.
They ruined Nanamo's story, big time and I love her. Glad she's back, but oddly enough I'd be happier if she died, and Rauhbahn turned crazy or something. The whole Ul'dah story
was pretty terribly written in this patch. People become too sympathetic and never want a 'bad ending' like Edda...Do not give Edda a happy ending. More lil' shorts of her is alright but nothing more.
This game suffers from 'This really really sucks' and has done pretty well so far, despite the Ul'dah thing...I cried on Hauchy. ><
He wasn't nothing up until 3.0 where his death was all of the sudden "OMG THIS BRO". Now people love him and want him back.
Stuff.

I didn't say they weren't dead, I said we may not be done with them. Ysayle has the whole Chosen of Hydaelyn thing going on. Haurchefant is dead for sure but we don't know where his body is (It's NOT the memorial near Dragonhead) and he could come back via Ascian possession or by his big dumb family Primal-ing him back since we haven't seen Unicorn/Ixion/Monoceros/Shadhavar whatever yet. And it debuted alongside Bismarck and the Warring Triad in the original games. Either way he's dead and it's just some aberration in his place.
I mean.
His body is MIA and if you go back to the Fortemps household in Ishgard after the MSQ there is NOBODY there from his family, just two servants, Tataru and Alphinaud. Where...where is the family? They're just at a funeral in mourning right? They're not collecting crystals or something? I mean those brothers were idiots and the father was pretty broken up.... Game.... Hey, hey, game, come back...
I hope they leave those two be, though, since the sudden "aliveness" of Nanamo kinda annoyed me. I know SE is aware of the popularity of the characters so hopefully, if they want to bring them back into the story it will just be some quest that involves the memory of them/finding something of theirs (which, by the way, I would also classify as "not done with"), rather than them coming back .
...For those of you who just read all that you are probably thinking it is the dumbest idea ever. I agree. You may also be horrified that it's true. As I was when it occurred to me.

One of the brothers (THe goofy one you helped in Sea of Clouds) and his retainer are over in the markets actually. I haven't looked around enough for the others...but really, Haurchefant is dead, he won't be coming back (Also to the person you were quoting, quite a few people actually did come to like him very much near the end of the 2.x storyline, and it basically increased through HW. Atleast from what I've seen/my own self as well.)
As for Estinien...
Remember that in the DRG level 50 quest he does end up going crazy due to hate/Nidhogg's influence but is able to come back on his own by the time he enters the 2.x MSQ...while right now the possession is MUCH stronger, it was not due to his own hate AND we know its possible to bring him back because he has done so himself...that said I AM sure that when we do free him, it will either A.) Free Lahabrea as well, or B.) Same as A, except he possesses Estinien...meaning we either A.) Have to free him AGAIN (On two fronts at that since its the same situation as with Thancred), or B.) We won't be able to save him like we did with Thancred...though in this case he will totally give us the opening to finish of Lahabrea once and for all.

So he is! Good...that's good. One of the brothers (THe goofy one you helped in Sea of Clouds) and his retainer are over in the markets actually. don't bring the dead people back.
pretty sure Estinien's mind/personality is already gone. He prob will end up like the first Azure Dragoon. dead but body preserved. Nanamo's story was BS. Scions died for nothing and not to mention they just let the freaking tarutaru go after he literally killed the entire Scions.
I put a bit of the blame on the limits they put for Job story Quest.
lvl 30 to 50 Job Story Quest is the Apprentice Arc of each Job storyline where we are still training. While we're training as a apprentice our character is faced a trial that puts him or he on a Test that would determine if he or she is worthy to be called that certain Job.
lvl 51 to 60 Job Story Quests is, what I call, the Master Arc where our character is now a Master of the specific Job. Due to this we are no long going through a trial like a apprentice but must discover forgotten secrets, learn from being a Master ourselves by training our own apprentice, or self train ourselves to obtain the lvl 51 to 60 skills.
This kind of makes me worried how they will handle the lvl 61+ Job story Quest because from how each Job storyline ends in lvl 60 our character is now the rank of Grandmaster of that specific Job. This put into question what each Job will have to face as a Grandmaster of the Job or can meet a threat suited of a Grandmaster of the specific Job.

Thx EdwinLi
Dragoon spoiler
In Dragoon you get your apprentice who gets dragoon blood off the bat. Then all we do is track her down and gain skills for tracking her down cuz why not I guess. It stated off so promising then turned into chase someone that at this point is bad at being a dragoon. I wanted more epic dragon bttles like the lvl 52 one all we got was le sigh hertics.
Compared to monk where we have a clear story onto why we get our class skills. (I like monk post 50 story a lot more then pre 50) Not sure about other classes but dragoon felt pointless fast.
