I'm glad it's not just me. I was fine up until the weekend, now I get BSOD crashes whilst using DX11.. it's beyond frustrating. I also get BSOD using DX9, but it isn't as frequent. Sometimes I can play for 7 hours straight, other times I crash 30 minutes into gameplay. It just blackscreens and restarts my computer. I've tried rolling back drivers (clean install each time) tweaking profiles/settings, cleaning out my registry, updating windows, closing any overlays before I play the game, etc. It's a EVGA GTX 970 SC card… barely a week old. I'm really hoping it's not my card, lol.. It always comes back with the same error: 2057.
BSOD is usually caused by hardware issues or faulty drivers. It shouldn't be stemming from a software issue, which would crash on its own rather than causing the entire computer to choke. If you really are BSODing, it might be your card or some other hardware.
That's what I'm beginning to think. I'm gunna take it into a tech store tomorrow and see what's up. It really shouldn't be doing this. It also BSOD's on Guild Wars 2. So that's two games it crashes on.
They seem to be fixing DX related issues piece meal. I just hope they look into this main issue that is really the game breaker. It sucks not being able to use DX11, I love how much smoother everything runs. But again pulling up just about any UI element, DF, PF, inventory, w/e or very frequently zoning into dungeons, it will crash the game.
GTX 670 and it crashes everytime I try to enter a trial/dungeon for the first time.
After I log back in it's fine though and I can enter that trial/dungeon with no issues.
Yep, sounds like one of your parts might be faulty. I am betting it's the video card.
I started a new thread in Tech Support. Please continue this topic there.
On another note, I haven't had a crash since I switched to full screen. At least 4-5 sessions now. Seems that windowed mode is still broken.

I have an amd r9 285 and with directx 11 I crash with directx 9 I don't. I have to do a fresh log in every time I try 11 as I'm left with the "FFXIV has stopped working" msg. The card was released sept 2014 so it isn't an old card. I had a few issues before hw with the drivers crashing on blue moons but the video always came back and I could keep playing. That problem only started a few months ago.
It's not just nvidia, amd users are having the same problem and yet when I brought it up my card was immediately trashed by ppl because it's amd, but now I see nvidia ppl having the same problem those trashing can now eat their words and suck it.I have an EVGA Nvidia 960 and when running DirectX 11 and closing the game, it never closes properly, stays in a black screen and I have to go to the task manager to force close the game. I get the "The program stopped working" notice.
Drivers are all updated, and I have no problems while I play, but I've been only able to close the game properly once. I'm on Windows 7 btw.
I wonder if it's really an Nvidia graphic cards thing, or something with the client itself.
