I have an EVGA Nvidia 960 and when running DirectX 11 and closing the game, it never closes properly, stays in a black screen and I have to go to the task manager to force close the game. I get the "The program stopped working" notice.
Drivers are all updated, and I have no problems while I play, but I've been only able to close the game properly once. I'm on Windows 7 btw.

I wonder if it's really an Nvidia graphic cards thing, or something with the client itself.

That is strange because I have the exact same card and never had a crash to desktop when I play in DX11. I'm on Windows 8.1 but I don't think that should be a big influence.

It's not just nvidia, amd users are having the same problem and yet when I brought it up my card was immediately trashed by ppl because it's amd, but now I see nvidia ppl having the same problem those trashing can now eat their words and suck it.

So... I want to add a suggestion here, only because I somehow managed to make the game crash at launch while I was trying to resolve a different issue.

Try updating the Visual Studio 2010 C++ runtime.
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=26999

At some point during my attempts to install a SDK that required uninstalling the C++ runtime so the SDK could install an older version, I tried running FFXIV and it would crash at launch. So I went back through the Microsoft website to find the most recent 2010 runtime, and that fixed it.

But that doesn't mean this will fix it for everyone, just those who have software on their system that was insistent on installing the old version.
