But the forbidden technique seem to have left her actually blinded, but not really. You see she can now see everything through aether form, but at a cost of her own lifeforce. Matoya was truly concerned considering the spell she used was very dangerous. We can also assume that her powerful spells also use some hint of her LF too. Talk about commitment.

Shes not blinded. You can see that how she focus on us when we see her the first time awake. She also tells you that she CAN see the aether flow not "i see you through the aetherflow". They would need to redo y'shtola everytime we meet her because lifeforce draining usually goes hand in hand with rapid aging. i dont think they want to throw away such a precious character easily *is secretly in love with shtola*
