I like having more things to press. Makes the action feel a lot better, lot less of 1 2 3 and watching the exact same animations over and over again.

I love the new toys we got and hope my low level/trial roulettes keep me above 50. But maybe it's because I'm mnk.
You cant queue up skills that are in a macro resulting in lost dps. So instead of pressing the button before the gcd ends and queueing the skill you would have to wait til the gcd ends then use it. Thats why nobody recommends using macros for skills in this game and why its so hard to deal with so many abilities. If the macro system was reworked to be more convenient this wouldnt be much of a problem.
Does no one else find these posts saying "I can deal with all the abilities fine" funny? It made me laugh because since I've hit 60 I've been doing Df expert and What I notice almost all dps can't do their rotation. How do I know you ask? I never not once use my actual enmity combo in parties. Add to the fact people are struggling on bisex maybe people need to recheck what their definition of handle is.
I guess I'm just a little mad people seem to think keybroad and mouse is better for real time combat. Only thing kb and m are better at is aimming and micro. You want to use mass amount of abilities as a selling point? Rift endgame has never been respected by raiders. Name another game and I bet either most of those abilities don't get used or the games raid community is missing. But really I'm mad you are telling this guy to git gud. Seriously? You don't even know him. His complaint is valid. It's something he dislikes and I respect his thoughts. So why don't you guys GET EMPATHY.
Its what? 5 new abilities and people worry about skill bloat?
I didn't have to do much shifting about to fit in all the skills onto my ui (though some people have said my UI is odd and confusing) if you sort things into combos (one two three four for one 5 6 7 8 for the other though you can do ctrl 1 2 3 4) and then have the cooldown checks setup on hotbars closer to your screen centre so you can see them while looking at your character you would see you still have plenty of space for skills. I can't say anything for controller though since I have no idea how to work a controller in an mmo.
Keyboard and mouse is better for twitch based gameplay and games with a lot of things to press, if you get a decent gaming mouse with plenty of side buttons you will have both the advantage of a controller and a keyboard and mouse combo.
The major issue with controller is the limited button space which you get which needs a lot of work to get around.
I use a macro like: /ac "Fang & Claw"You cant queue up skills that are in a macro resulting in lost dps. /ac "Wheeling Thrust"
As far as I've seen, there isn't a loss in queue or slowed dps, it's worked for me so far. I will agree that the macro system does need alot of work as it's no where near as useful as WoW's macros.

This is funny because while I personally think the new DRG rotation is fantastic and much more engaging than the old one, a rather large percentage of the playerbase obviously can't or won't bother to learn how to do this right. That's the way it'll be though because the amount of players who bother with statweights, clipping and PPS is abysmally small in the grand scheme of things.
It took me a couple of days to unlearn the old DRG rotation, that's for sure - but now that I'm comfortable with the new one I'm having a blast with it. It's about return on investment, you just have to make the investment (time and effort) in this case.
The ability bloat definitely seems noticeable.
I've swapped from PLD to DRK as a main for the expansion (at least until I level PLD, then it might change) and I'm running out of keybinds. With 4 cross class abilities, I have 27 keybinds at present, all of which get used with a fair amount of regularity. I have 3 more DRK abilities and one more cross class, bringing me to 31 abilities in total. I use a Logitech G13 and a Razer Naga (usually left had offensive, right hand defensive), but even I'm starting to have to use a second modifier to have sufficient keybinds.
I'm used to having a fair number of abilities, but typically I would expect that several are so situational that they do not really warrant usage. 24 abilities to use on a regular basis is more than enough (IMO) to have an enjoyable rotation with sufficient cooldowns to manage. I'm a little nervous about starting my DRG leveling, as that was already a fairly convoluted rotation and CD set to manage.
